Danny Johnson, also known as Jed Olsen, grabbed a newspaper from the kitchen table: it was a week old, but his face was on the front page, grainy and hollow. It was one of those sweltering Florida evenings when the heat and humidity permeates everything in the kitchen and makes you sweat, even if you don't move three times. He sank into a wet armchair and began to read. It would be nice if the article was successful- he did a great job in Roseville.

GONE FACE IS GONE

June 18, 1993
At first glance, Jed Olsen was a modest and diligent freelancer who worked for many small newspapers. The Roseville Gazette staff liked how good-natured and honest he seemed, and so they stopped treating him like a stranger five minutes into the interview.

"Jed quickly singled out the editor-in-chief in the room, smiled broadly at him, shook his hand firmly and started talking about traditional American values. And that's it, he was accepted," - former Roseville Gazette employee

Olsen never explained his troubled career, which zigzagged through several small towns from Utah to Pennsylvania. It was impossible to confirm his work at previous locations. He had a good portfolio and the right attitude, plus they needed an employee immediately.

THE ROSEVILLE MURDERS

Olsen had been working at the newspaper for five months when the murders began.: Victims of all ages were stabbed to death in their homes. According to reports, the victims were randomly selected, but the killer knew the plans of their houses. The multiple stab wounds indicated a personal motive. No DNA traces were found. The local police were stumped: the murders were carried out with the ferocity inherent in crimes of passion, but at the same time they were coldly planned in advance.

The killer also liked to keep an eye on his victims. A few days before their deaths, two victims reported being chased by a dark figure. The killer followed his victims from the Pike Perch, a small bar in north Roseville, and photographed their homes, looking for a way to get inside. He could follow his victims for weeks, scrupulously studying their habits and daily routines. When the urge to kill came over him, he chose the most vulnerable victim from the list and silently broke into the house.

All the employees of the newspaper were working on the story

GOST FACE

Panic broke out in Roseville when Olsen photographed a hooded figure breaking into someone's house at night. The face under the mask, a blurry white spot in the darkness, appeared on the film for a second and then disappeared into the house. As a result, Olsen wrote the article "Got Face caught on camera." He seemed proud of his work, and it amused him that the whole city was afraid of his ghost stories.

A few weeks later, Olsen left a note on his desk and disappeared.:

"I hope you enjoyed my stories. I was happy to bring them to life. Don't worry, I'm not done yet" - Jed Olsen.

The police still refuse to comment on the situation, because Jed Olsen remains at large.

Danny smiled as he tore the article out of the newspaper. When the investigation started pointing at him, he packed up and quickly left Roseville.

He stood up, peeling the leather off the sticky seat. Suffocating humidity surrounded him at the entrance to the bedroom. Condensation rolled down the small misted-up window, and beads hung from the wall.

Danny took a step back to admire his work on the wall. His thoughts took flight. He recalled all the articles he had written, the planned stories, and the scenes he had brought to life.

Suddenly he shivered from the cold. The chilly wind turned the humidity in the bedroom into a dense icy fog. The woman screamed. Dry leaves crunched under his feet.

He smiled in anticipation[1].
