"This tiny bronze coin, barely the diameter of an American Dime, was struck in a Greek Colony some time in the 5th Century BC. It is thought that the decision to make the coin in the shape of a dolphin was made in order to honor Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, or Apollo Delphinos, the colony's patron god."
