Someone on their way to a position near the evac? Hand them your samples to drop off if you're going into danger. Mission seems tougher than usual? Drop off your samples at evac or an easy-to-reach location in case where you're going is too hot to recover lost samples from after. Even dropping them just outside of a enemy-infested region is better than dying with the samples in the region and making them extremely difficult to recover.
Every time someone gets a little bit arrogant and think they can make it while holding a large sum of useful samples, they always seem to lose them in the worst locations, like in a well-packed nest or down a random hole or off the side of the map. They're not always recoverable in those situations, besides the issue of the mission timer ending soon.
Preserve your samples when you can't be preserved, and do your duty for managed democracy!
I just wish I could beam this knowledge into the heads of every other Helldivers 2 player, because it's makes the game significantly simpler.
