Elite, Frontier: Elite II, and Frontier: First Encounters were all developed for 20th century computers, and lacked this level of graphical fidelity. Elite Dangerous was released in 2015 and announced in 2014; Android as a operating system was first available commercially in 2008, and was announced in 2007. Google develops the primary branch of the kernel, which is based on the Linux kernel, and is not the only vendor to create a version of the OS. But for all intents and purposes, Elite: Dangerous is much younger than Android.

Yes it is a very common and typical design for androids in fiction. However... Elite had theirs long before ESET's... Because ESET is using their's as marketing for selling their antivirus for Google ANDROID devices... and I think Elite has been around for far longer then Google Android has.
