Me and a friend are trying to play, constantly puts us on USSR team so we are unable to control any units. Any fix?

How do I get rid of the mod's background menu images? I can't see my fonts in Conquest selection menus. There are no vanilla options in-game to change menu fonts/colors.
Perhaps add an option to not use the mod's images. Or, is there a mod to change font colors?
