Starfield 100% Achievement Guide

Missable achievements: Yes (Starcrossed)
Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
Co-op / Online Achievements: 0
Difficulty required for 100%: No
Time to 100%: 75 to 125 hours

Important starting traits:
Start with the "Dream Home" trait. It is the only house in the game you can fast travel to! The cost is also only 125,000 credits. You do not pay this weekly like the description says.

Another good trait is "Wanted". This does NOT add a bounty or anything negative to your character. It unlocks some new dialogue options when talking to people. It also spawns enemies who will try to hunt you down. You can kill them for loot and also take their ship. This will help a lot with the ship collector achievement.

A really fun trait is "Hero Worshiped". You'll meet an NPC that will follow you around and say nice/crazy things to you. He can be recruited to your crew and stationed on a ship or outpost. He can also be a companion with a carrying weight of 165.

Notes:
This is a completely handwritten guide. Any item / collectable you need can be found by using CTRL + F and entering what you're looking for in the text box.

All achievements can be obtained before completing the final mission except Starcrossed. The 4 characters you can romance in the game are: Sarah Morgan, Sam Coe, Andreja, and Barrett. Your gender does not matter. It takes a majority of the game to max out a relationship. Choose one of them and stick with them throughout the entire game! Do all main story missions and faction missions with them. Only switch them out if you are forced to. During the raid on Constellation, you have to be with your partner or they will die. So either at Constellation or The Eye. The achievement section has a bit more detail on this.

Keep an eye out for computers, things you can lockpick, skill magazines, and enemy ships if you have the "Wanted" trait. You won't have to farm as much if you get these done as you play.

You keep your level, skills, and powers when starting “new game plus”. You lose your ships, cargo, money, weapons, bases, xp farms, inventory, and anything else I didn't list.

A fifth ship can be obtained by doing the Mantis quest. This quest is obtained from reading the "Secret Outpost!" data slate dropped by spaces enemies. I got the achievement for owning 9 ships. During the "Power from Beyond" questline, guardian enemies will spawn. This automatically starts after main mission 5 "Into The Unknown" is completed.
Misc Achievements
I Use Them For Smuggling Successfully Smuggle Contraband You need to install a "Shielded Cargo Hold" and a "Scan Jammer" in your spaceship. These can be installed by the Crimson Fleet service technician found in Star System: Kryx > Space Station: The Key. Go to Ship Builder (B key) > Add (G key while not hovering over a ship part) > Cargo (for shielded cargo) > Equipment (for scan jammer). You can find the contraband item "Aurora" in the bar while on The Key. Pick it up and store it in your ship's cargo hold. Fast travel to Jemison or any other hub world and you'll be scanned. If you fail the scan, load a save and try again. The achievement pops when you're clear for landing.

Cyber Jockey Bypass 50 Digital Locks Digital Locks are a form of lockpicking. Keep an eye out for locked doors and safes and you'll get this by playing naturally. I recommend getting the "Security" trait in the "Tech" skill tree so you can access higher tier locks.

Fixer Complete 30 Activities Activities are a type of mission in the quest log. You can track them under Menu > Missions > Activity.

Privateer Complete 30 Terminal or Misc. Missions Faction missions count towards this achievement so you'll get this from doing all of them.

Jacked In Access 50 Computers Computers are terminals that you can interact with. Keep an eye out for them as you play and you'll get this achievement.

Replicator Craft 100 Items Craft 100 Items at the Industrial Workbench or Pharmaceutical Lab.

The Family You Choose Recruit 10 Separate Companions You can recruit 7 companions during the main story automatically. They are: Andreja, Barrett, Heller, Lin, Sam Coe, Sarah Morgan, and Vasco. The remaining 3 companions can be recruited in bars, diners, and pubs. Go to System: Alpha Centauri > Planet: Jemison > Landing Site: New Atlantis Walk straight ahead until you reach the open area with the train station, turn left and enter the shop "The Viewport" and speak to some people inside.

Starcrossed Reach Maximum Relationship Level with a Companion The 4 characters you can romance in the game are: Sarah Morgan, Sam Coe, Andreja, and Barrett. Relationship progression: 1. Travel with the same companion and get likes from dialogue when interacting with people. A popup will say "(Companion) likes that" in the top right corner of your screen. This happens when choosing dialogue options they agree with. 2. After some time, they will speak with you about a mission. Complete it and choose the "romance" option. This will make them your girlfriend or boyfriend at the end of the quest. I got to this point with Sarah after spending 20 hours together (real time) and doing 3 questlines. 3. Keep traveling together. The companion will want to talk again. Choose the "commitment" option to get engaged. 4. Keep traveling together until they give their 2nd quest to get married. Getting married completes the relationship and unlocks the achievement.

Thirst for Knowledge Read 20 Skill Magazines Skill Magazines can be found while playing and most can be found in multiple locations. The dedicated skill magazine section below has their locations.
Skill Magazines
The format is [Issue] - [Star System] - [Planet] - [Details about location]

"MS" = Main story quest
"UC" = United Colonies quest
"FR" = Freestar Ranger quest
"CR" = Crimson Raiders quest
"RI" = Ryujin Industries quest

I've listed about 30 magazines in common locations so you can easily get this achievement. There are over 100 total magazines in the game and you can use: https://mapgenie.io/starfield/guides/skill-magazines if you want to go for every single one.

Use the search function ctrl + f to search for magazines during your quests. Example, while doing the Freestar Ranger questline, use ctrl + f and enter "FR" into the box (including quotation marks). This will highlight all magazines found during those quests. Do this for all main story quests and faction questlines. You can also search for cities which usually have a bunch of magazines in one location. They are: Jemison, Akila, Hopetown, and Volii Alpha.

XP / Credit Farm
We are going to be crafting items in bulk for up to 15,000 xp per minute. The xp rate depends on how much you scale the farm. A small farm can still grant about 3,000 xp per minute. You can also sell the output for near unlimited credits.

Materials needed for research projects for the mid tier setup:
27 - Adaptive Frame
30 - Aluminum
10 - Chlorosilanes
10 - Cobalt
40 - Copper
5 - Drilling Rig
15 - Iron
8 - Isocentered Magnet
4 - Lubricant
8 - Mag Pressure Tank
2 - Reactive Gauge
11 - Sealant
30 - Silver
8 - Tungsten
15 - Zero Wire

They allow you to complete the following research projects:
Manufacturing 1
Manufacturing 2 (Medium Cargo Container)
Resource Extraction 1 (Commercial Extractor)
Power Generation 1 (Advanced Wind Turbine)

Mid tier equipment needs 1 skill point in "Outpost Engineering" to unlock. A total of 9 skill points are needed in the "Science" category to reach and upgrade this skill once. This is important so you don't start with low tier equipment and need to upgrade later. If you need a few levels, land on the planet Schrodinger III (location below) and kill some of the creatures. This is also a good time to start looking for nickel and cobalt deposits. Mid tier extractors are about 20% faster than low tier extractors. This makes a difference in the long run but you can start with low tier if you want. This allows you to skip the above materials for now.

The numbers to the left are needed for mid tier equipment and the numbers in parentheses ( ) are needed for low tier equipment:
131 - (78) - Adaptive frame
135 - (254) - Aluminum
4 - (4) - Beryllium
0 - (36) - Cobalt
2 - (2) - Copper
21 - (0) - Drilling Rig
1 - (1) - Fiber
133 - (258) - Iron
30 - (0) - Isocentered Magnet
42 - (0) - Isotopic Coolant
0 - (54) - Nickel
84 - (42) - Tungsten
2 - (2) - Zero Wire

These materials allow you to make:
21 - Commercial or Basic Extractor (13 cobalt and 8 nickel)
10 - (20) - Medium Storage Container
15 - (18) - Wind Turbine
1 - Landing Pad with Shipbuilder
1 - Industrial Workbench
1 - Research Lab
1 - Bed (~10% xp bonus after sleeping for 8+ hours from the "Well Rested" buff)

All materials can be purchased at vendors. The drilling rigs can be purchased from Dietrich Sieghart in Neon in the Volii System. Turn around as soon as you spawn and his shop will be behind you to your right. You can also check the merchant in New Atlantis in the Alpha Centauri System in the commercial district. Go straight and to the right a bit and her shop will be on your right. You can also craft adaptive frames and isocentered magnets if you have the materials.

Now head to the Schrodinger System and land on Schrodinger III. This is the perfect world. It has abundant fauna and flora, safe environment, breathable atmosphere, and the resources we need. Scan the planet for resources and land in the center of a nickel deposit.

After landing, use your scanner and locate an area that has both nickel and cobalt deposits in close proximity. After finding them, deploy an outpost beacon to start creating a base (press the 'R' key with the scanner open). With the outpost created, start placing your power supplies somewhere not on top of the mineral deposits.

Now place extractors on the mineral deposits. In 1 nickel deposit, I was able to fit 8 commercial extractors. In the surrounding cobalt deposits, I placed 13 extractors. Cobalt generates slower than nickel so you need a few more. The ratio isn't perfect but it's close. You can see the 8 nickel extractors together in the left picture and 6 of my cobalt extractors in the right. The rest are off screen.

Next, place some medium cargo containers down and link them together. With the scanner open, hit 'Tab' to switch to edit mode. By default, linking is done with the right mouse button. Link your containers together in the following manner. Containers will have a light blue highlight when trying to link them together. It goes away after they are linked.

Next, link all extractors to your cargo container 1. You'll see a red line connecting them to the cargo container. Use the same method for linking the containers together. This will send the extractor output to the container which can then be accessed anywhere.

You'll slowly generate more cobalt as you use the farm. If you have 2 nickel deposit, you can set up an extra tier 1 nickel extractor and link it to your cargo container. This will allow you to slowly generate more nickel. When you have more nickel than cobalt, disable it until you have more cobalt than nickel and repeat. While in edit mode with the hand scanner, hover over the red line connecting the extractor to the cargo container and hold 'R' to delete the link.

Place the landing pad, workbench, bed, and research station together. The research station comes in handy if you upgrade science skills and need to research something.

Sleep in the bed and wait 24 hours. Go to the workbench and you can now craft isocentered magnets by the thousands. Each magnet is 1 xp and you can craft 99 at a time and you can spam this 3-4 times per second. That's 99 xp per craft or 112 xp per craft with the ~10% "Well Rested" xp buff. So it's about 500 xp per second and how long you can craft for depends on how many storage containers you have.

You want the isocentered magnet at the top of the list. Place your cursor on the right of the slider to select 99 units to be crafted and left click. Now span click your "Enter" key and "Left Mouse Button" to craft these as fast as possible. You should get between 800 and 1,500 xp drops each time they appear.

For credits:
If you want to keep/sell the output, you can drop the stack from your inventory and and then pick it up by holding the interact button. This will let you carry any amount of weight worth of magnets to vendors and storage containers. They sell for 4-5 credits each so you can make hundreds of thousands of credits easily with this method. The vendors at The Key have about 40k credits between the 5 of them alone.

If you scale this to 200+ containers, you'll need to go to a world that progresses universal time faster. Every hour you wait is in local time. So 24 hours will progress 1 day on your world. However, some worlds will progress the universal time much faster. You can go to Venus in the Sol System and wait for 24 hours. 24 hours on Venus will progress the universal time by 2400 hours (100 days). This will fill hundreds of storage containers at once. This really isn't necessary though.

Notes:
The social skill "Outpost Management", at level 4, will make your extractors produce twice as fast. This will allow the small setup described above fill 50 medium storage containers in a 24 hour cycle. This will be a big increase to xp per hour as you'll spend half as much time waiting. You'll need double the containers though.

You can set up smaller resource farms for iron and aluminum so you can easily make storage containers. Use the same method used for this xp farm.

You can also farm the creature kills, organic resources, and inorganic resources collected on this planet.

I keep this open on my tablet while playing Starfield. Take my points. I will definitely be using your other guides when I play those as well! Phenomenal job!

Do you have the developer tool active? Using cheats disables achievements.

I played through Shattered Space and sadly, didn't realize I didn't get any of the achievements. I was at 100% up until the DLC. I thought it might have been because I used a couple of mods on the "new" creative add-on....so I deleted them. Then I went to the end and started another NG+ and started the DLC over again...with none of the achievements STILL NOT WORKING. Not sure what is happening...but it is frustrating. So, I went back to a previous save, way back, and then started the DLC path again...STILL NOTHING. I don't know what gives....

For "Facing Your Fears" (Defeat 25 Vortex Horrors): It's easy to create a lure grenade and equip it to your partner, which will spawn up to 1 light vortex horror on the grenade impact, and you can keep killing them to increase the count.

And for the vortex horror you can save, kill the vortex and loot them to get what you need, if the loot its not what you need, load the save and repeat (best way to do it if you already completed the game)
