To keep it short, it's really hard to make organics with voxels. The more you know _-*

I essentially split the biter up into different sections and combined these building blocks piece by piece. It made it easier to use vibrant colours to keep track of all of the different elements that make up a biter. Then I could just replace the colours with the real hues. Otherwise I used a lot of reference from, well, the game.
