Design Techniques: Design CS:GO Skins Using Templates in Blender3d (Free software)

The most common request I receive on my CS:GO Workshop Tutorials was to show a process similar to my flexible base templates (above) video but using free to use software.

This Video shows how to create weapon templates using a free program called blender. The templates help simplify the design process and allow you to design the majority of your weapon skins/finishes on a 2D side view rather than on the flat UV's/Texture map.
