Easy crash fix for Saints Row 2 (No mods required)

Hello guys, this is an easy fix I found some weeks ago, it worked for me and some friends, this trick finally fixed the random crashes I had with this poor PC port.

Hello guys, this is an easy fix I found some weeks ago, it worked for me and some friends, this trick finally fixed the random crashes I had with this poor PC port.

The Fix

If you use an Nvidia GPU, just open the Nvidia Control Panel:

Click Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings
Click Program Settings
Find Saints Row 2 (sr2_pc.exe)
Scroll down and select Low Latency Mode
Set it to Ultra

Now you can restart your game and enjoy it without crashing every 5 minutes.

Sorry to Intel & AMD GPU owners, I don't know if this fix can be applied, you will need to do somes research by yourself.

NOTE: This guide doesn't fix the stutter issue the game have, but capping the framerate of the game to 30 or 60fps is also recommended.

One big thing that helps is just putting the game in windowed mode. No clue why but it does, thanks idolninja

it’s just one of my favorite childhood games, I remember the time when my mother bought a disc with this game in 2009 and I played it despite the lags, now I found out that you can safely play co-op via Radmin VPN and I wanted to play with my best friend but I got sudden crashes, today I launched the game for a whole hour and haven’t noticed any crashes yet, and I hope there won’t be any more of them

I didn’t have any crashes before, then after 3-4 months I noticed that the game was updated by 15 MB and I still couldn’t find any news about the update and then I noticed that the game started crashing, I hope your option will work and I can play with my best friend in this wonderful game

I found a site that has an archive of fixed game executables and they have a v1.2 fixed by Skidrow i wish i could give a link but i fear the my account could get banned for giving a link to a site just search up Saints Row 2 exe fixed Game Copy World

ok it worked but when DXVK was caching some things it again crashed and i am using software to automatically put the game into a windowed fullscreen mode but it turns out that when were downloading SR2 on steam that something in steam messes up the game exe itself so people may not think to fix some fixed exe somewhere trustworthy online

Saints Row 2 is still a broken port, so this fix probably don't work for everyone. You will need to try something else.
