Welcome to Tutorial - How to Create ur very own Texture/Sound for L4D2! 2022/23

What do you need for Creating stuff like this?

Gcfscape (for opening VPK files)
Audacity (for sound files like mp4 , wav , mp3 , gog and other)
VTFEditor (for Editing VTF/VMF files)
Gimp (or any other photoshop)

how to get to the models and sounds?

Steam > steamapps > common > Left 4 Dead 2 > left4dead2 > (scroll all the way down and find a VPK file called pak01_dir , You must open it with GCFscape)

!!!TEXTURES!!!

Normal weapons : orginal (autoshot , deserteagle , grenade_launcher , pistol , rifle , shotgun , smg , sniper)

root > materials > models > v_models > weapons > (Whatever weapon you do)

Counter-Strike : Source weapons! : (knife_t , rif_sg552 , smg_mp5 , snip_awp , snip_scout)

root > materials > models > weapons > v_models > folder with (v_) > w_models > folder with (w_)

Why does the CSS weapons needs BOTH of the Textures done?

Css weapons are pretty diffrent for some wierd reson... so Here

Editing v_model without making w_model. Will make the Texture will be visible only in 1st person! (when equiped)
Editing w_model without v_model. Will make the Texture visible only in 3rd person! (only when you play in 3rd person/tm8s hold that weapon)

Melee weapons : (orginal)

root > materials > models > weapons > melee

!!!SOUNDS!!!

root > sound > weapons > (and there are ALL weapon sounds you can edit!)

Why does the mod not showing up in the ADD-ONS section?

Remember! After you finish making a mod. Made a "addoninfo" document and put it in ROOT folder.
this will make ur mod to show up in add-ons section in L4D2.

NEW - How do i find The Last Stand Stuff???

Steam > steamapps > common > Left 4 Dead 2 > update > pak01_dir
(There are ALL Stuff from TLS , Even these Special Skins + Melee!)

"AddonInfo" { addonSteamAppID 550 550 is by Defult addontitle "=Name=" addonversion 1 addonauthor "=user=" addonDescription "=info=" }

and Paste this to the "addoninfo" document. Then you can Edit the whole thing
