First off, the game is FREE TO PLAY (and YES people still play) so give it a try.

Free Edition users can play with full version players.

• Wired Ethernet connection is STRONGLY recommended
• Your region may play a factor in quality of connection to other players (we've gotten pretty good at figuring out which regions play nice together).
  
  
• Ensure your PC can handle running Dissidia NT at a stable 60fps. Match quality is only as good as the weakest player's PC. (If 1 player lags, EVERYONE lags)
  Note that the in-game fps counter is broken (only tells you current locked fps, not YOUR fps), use Steam/Nvidia/etc fps counter instead.
  
  
• Microphone settings for NT are broken on PC, so make sure you mute or disable your mic in your OS before joining a lobby, everyone in the lobby will hear you otherwise (Please see my FAQ/Troubleshooting Guide for more info)
  
  
• 1v1 is not viable in Dissidia NT, so it is generally avoided/frowned upon in lobbies. Except when learning/teaching basics.
  1v1 IS available through custom lobbies, and offline Sparring mode.
  
  
• Complete the tutorials, even if you've played previous Dissidia games. There are new concepts for team play to learn.
  
  
• Keep it civil. Our community is small, and there is no room for poor behavior.
  
  
• Free Edition users can play with full version players.

Online Ranked mode is dead, but that doesn't mean online play is. Custom lobbies are hosted often here: Look for the #PC-Lobbies channel, and ask about the Essentials Kit.


Don't worry if you aren't very good or don't know how to play. Complete the tutorial and we can teach you the rest. We have new players joining and improving all the time.

Here you are able to have control over what kind of matches you want to have online:


Shuffled teams, and random stage are the best for avoiding unnecessary player drama. Not to mention picking the same stage over and over.
Also having a shorter timer for matches (default 4mins) allows for quicker matches, and doesn't keep extra players waiting too long for their turn to join the next match.

This does not prevent people from joining if they have the link to the lobby (lobbies are public), but it will keep random players from popping up. Unfortunately this is necessary, in case someone joins with a very slow internet connection, and lags the entire lobby.
Players are encouraged to join the Subreddit Discord if they wish to join in lobbies, where we can properly communicate, teach, and troubleshoot as necessary.

Using that link from your Steam profile, anyone can paste it into a browser and they will auto-join your lobby.

In a recent Discord update, Steam join links were broken and do not function. However, there is an alternate method:

Using the site "TinyURL" (paste your link there, then press "Shorten URL") you can get a link that is sharable/clickable in Discord.

So please only click links from sources you trust.

Abusing this method on the Dissidia NT Subreddit Discord Server will NOT be tolerated.
