Changing ammo was a thing ever since highelves so WH2 but they just never added it to Bretonnias archers for some reason. Its not that it wasn't technically possible but they just did not felt like it I guess since on release of WH2 you had highelf-artillery that could change ammo.
I personally dont mind, its a cheap unit you make in one turn quickly.
But if they finally put units that can change ammo, I have to say: REALLY? They needed a 3rd game and multiple patches to implement something that was in the base game of many previous game?
Same as regular peasants, to pump out a stack in a turn on top of your regular city defenders is insane
Although so stupid that archers in TW Warhammer 3 cant just cycle through ammo, I mean its already a feature for other units
I know the warhammer peasant archers aren't that bad, a fact I remembered after posting this. They share the issue though, that once you get the elemental damage units, the regular ones become obsolete (I think in most factions you can completely replace the regular ones).
Not to speak of how stupid the idea of ranged variations is. My thought was: Why can't the archers set their arrows ablaze or put them in poison, etc. and you need another unit to do that? So, I just picked a unit from 3 different games that I knew had fire arrows for the comic.
