THE Problem
have you ever gone to play this and then had no way to get past the stupid resolution, and you just get pissed off, uninstall and then come back a year later to try again?

ME TO!

However, after digging around on the Discussions and doing a few Googles, I have come across the solution.

This solution has been discovered by other people, however I believe that they did not see the that it needed to be changed more than once, and so we enter in to.....
THE Solution
So, I will get right to it real quick.

The solution is to edit the DHQ_Log file. So first off, you need to find it.

Finding it is pritty easy. All you need to do is go to the Windows Documants folder, from there find the Square Enix folder and you should have a folder called DRAGON QUEST HEROS in witch you will find the DQH_Log file.

So, to make it quick

Documents\Square Enix\DRAGON QUEST HEROES

Now comes editing.

In the folder, you should see text that looks like this:

Get Reg Value Resolution : 4 Get Reg Value WindowMode : 0 Get Reg Value Vsync : 0 Get Reg Value Language : 0 Get Reg Value Filter : 0 Get Reg Value Setting : 0 Get Reg Value MovieMode : 0 Get Reg Value PadDecide : 0 Get Reg Value WarningAnnounce : 0 Windows 7 Compatible Mode ON Init Devices Start Init Graphics Init Graphics Memory Create Graphics Device Reset Graphics Device Init Sound Init Devices End OS Major ver: [6] OS Minor ver: [1] Enable GPU particle on this machine Set Reg Value Resolution : 4 Set Reg Value Filter : 0 Set Reg Value Setting : 0 Set Reg Value Character : 0 Set Reg Value Fog : 0 Set Reg Value LOD : 0 Set Reg Value Texture : 0 Set Reg Value Shadow : 0 Set Reg Value Shader : 0 Set Reg Value MovieMode : 0 Set Reg Value WindowMode : 1 Set Reg Value Vsync : 0 Set Reg Value Language : 0 Set Reg Value LightShaft : 0 Set Reg Value MotionBlur : 0 Set Reg Value DOF : 0 Set Reg Value FXAA : 0 Set Reg Value RLR : 0 Set Reg Value HBAO : 0 Set Reg Value PARTICLE : 0 Set Reg Value PadDecide : 0 Set Reg Value WarningAnnounce : 0

Now, in making this guide, I have found that the folder can change a far bit after each time booting the game. I have no idea why that is... But the main thing you need to change is ALL the instances of Get Reg Value Resolution to 6. And I do mean all of them. The first time I did this, there where 4 or 5 instances of the line, then when I looked again, there where 2... it was odd.

Then save the file, and boot the game, and you should now have the options for higher resalutions.

HOWEVER If you do not, go back to the file and check things are saved or just not changed, which it seems to do after EVERY TIME you open the game... that in it self seems to be a wired bug the game has....

At any rate, I hope this helps.
