"and downs, high points and low points. but at least once do we see ourselves questioning if the good outweighs the bad. if life is worth living if it means having short moments of euphoria, paling in comparison to a sea of misery and self-hatred. many times i find myself wondering why i was put on this plane, if there is an omnipotent being we seek to call god, if there is more beyond this life than just the mortal shell that imprisons us. i ask myself if consciousness truly is our soul, desperately trying to escape from this world to achieve something greater, something beyond our comprehension, or if our consciousness is just the accumulated power of trillions of synapses, overstimulating our senses to simulate what we call inner thought. i ponder what happens when we die. if there is an afterlife, or if it all goes dark. if there is an afterlife, i wonder if i would fear to live forever, but then again, i would also fear if everything went dark, and i would no longer exist on any plane. however, as confounding as these fates may seem, they bring me some form of solace. if there were an afterlife, life already feels too long for me to make any difference if i live forever. likewise, if there is no afterlife, and i stop existing, i would not be able to feel any way about it, as i would no longer be capable of doing so. truth is, there is no point in pondering these things, as we as a species will probably never know the answers. besides, this constant pondering would drive us mad, and most of us have enough experience to acknowledge that we cannot enjoy life by pondering our purpose or our fate. since we must live to enjoy life, and not to ponder on such intimidating topics, i will live to enjoy life, and i will continue doing so by enjoying this pizza."
