As PFS continued to expand to more and more colonies, the corporation began to transform further into a ruling body and military. This transformation began to manifest itself in the design philosophy of its engineers, and the aesthetic of its architects. This transition was first clearly seen in the design of the Osprey, which traded its former white and blue scheme for a darker blue one.

The transition was a highly intentional one, as the Osprey had been designed specifically to combat the growing threat of pirates on PFS trade routes. The ship itself was designed to be fast, capable of running down pirates, stripping away their shields with its beams, and destroying key systems with its turrets.
