First things first: I highly recommend playing the game with the Monkey Island Ultimate Talkie Edition Builder patch instead but if you really want to play with the 'remastered' graphics but with less horrible hair you can:

1. Download The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and run it at least once

2. Visit https://www.facebook.com/monkeyislandhairpatch
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Secret_of_Monkey_Island:_Special_Edition
and download the "Hair Patch"

3. Execute the patch and point the installer to the correct folder:
"c:\Steam\steamapps\common\The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition\art"

4. Enjoy!

WOW! I didn't think a haircut could make that MUCH difference. Thanks for sharing.
Close-up images don't look so great (would have required a real artist redrawing those few static images with a graphic tablet...), but in-game sprites are definitely much better.

FYI, original MI2se has the same minor issue: mirrored head sprite facing left/right.

Just installed this (using the amended location, as per my previous comment, and it worked), then uninstalled (using Control Panel -- couldn't find the uninstaller). Didn't like it! It might have worked, but Guybrush's hair is brushed to the right -- so the side views, left and right, should look different, with the quiff showing on the right, but not the left. But the left and right views are mirrored (looking like the quiff shifts from right to left, depending on which way he's facing); whereas we should see his forehead if viewing his left side (which we don't).

I never played the game until 2019, so had no preconceptions. And so, although it could be better, I prefer the original SE sprite. (Sorry!)

Surely the correct installation folder would include "\Program Files (x86)" before "Steam"?
