Best way to get "One Shot" achievement
By Wifi Thief
So the main objective of this achievement is that you have to complete the entire game without dying a single time.
You can choose any difficulty you want to get this achievement , but i prefer to use hard.

(trust me, DON'T pick Nightmare mode...)

There are many ways to get this achievement, one of which is that you're a good player, which let's be honest... you're not. So what's the best way to get this achievo, even for a mediocre player like yourself?

The Tips:

Well, if you're playing the game, and the alien or any other enemy decides to grab you, or gun you down, you can pause the game, and quickly exit back to main menu. However you have to make sure that you successfully exit the game BEFORE your screen goes black, and you see the loading animation in the top right corner of the screen.

If this saving animation is displayed, you have failed.

So just pause and quit while being in a dying animation, easy right?
However some enemies in the game have faster killing animations.
For example the alien has the coolest, but also the slowest killing animations in the game, so it's easy to quit the game.
Humans and androids have a faster death animation however, so if you are close to any humans or androids, be careful, and have your trigger finger ready. Also, save your game constantly, so you can just reload a previous save, and don't have to start the chapter over.

(The game does actually have an autosave feature, however it RARELY happens... so do save or you'll be sent back entire levels)

There is however ONE enemy in the game, that has the fastest death animation, that can easily screw up your run very late into the game:

The Facehuggers

If those things manage to latch onto your face, you have about 1,5 seconds to react, so my advice:
STAY AWAY FROM FACEHUGGERS.

If you do get facehugged or killed, you can also press escape and reload a previous save.
I wouldn't reccomend spamming ALT + F4 myself, since it closes the game completely down, and it takes awhile to start it again. Sometimes it also takes your PC a little time to close, so the game might have time to save your death, so i'd say the best would be to press escape and reload.

Facehuggers first appear when you reach the Xenomorph nesting area, and from there on out they become a reoccurring enemy. They only appear late in the game and make a small screeching sound, so it shouldn't be too hard to spot em. Sometimes they do hide behind boxes though, so look out for those, but there's only 1 part in the game where it genuinely surprised me though...

When you eventually get to escape Sevastopol with an ambulance shuttle, you're able to board Marlow's ship, the Anesidora. For whatever reason the devs thought it'd be "fun" to place a few of these buggers onto the Anesidora, and they certainly caught me off guard. Just stay vigilant...

Other than that, you should be good to go.

I can't lie to you about your chances, but...
You have my sympathies.

wow. 10 years later I finished this game again. today decided to re watch the Alien. At 1H 25M mark Ash said his line. and it dawned on me your last input wasnt random. subtle reference for casual Alien fans. :47_thumb_up:

I tried ALT F4 before reading this guide, mainly because I thought that was the only way and I could do it. So I did make it through and got the One Shot, despite getting face-huggers latch onto me at the end as per this guide- I was quick on the close though, just to make anyone else aware!

the final facehugger screwed up my perfect nightmare run. the melee is really finicky with them.

Save constantly, and if you die then be sure to load your PREVIOUS save instead of your current save. That will allow you to preserve your 0-death run (I just completed mine yesterday).

Well, my advice would be that you take extreme caution in the later segments.
The second most dangerous enemy to you apart from the alien are the humans.

Their shotguns will kill you in 2 shots
