Even the best of us can occasionally misread or skip something, or even forget to check something critical like a plug socket or charger cable actually being connected. Troubleshooting includes all steps, even if they seem redundant or 'obvious' to you, and can still be helpful for others to see.
Your statistics about time spent on a game doesn't make you an expert, or really tell us anything beyond how long Steam thinks you had a piece of software running (you might have been asleep, or left it running whilst you went on a holiday for a week).
My mother uses her mobile phone a lot, but she can barely install an app, and doesn't know what a widget is... and despite thousands of hours over many years of driving, still bumps kerbs when taking corners.
If you haven't specifically set the mod to use Canadian barriers then you need to, as it still uses vanilla barriers by default.
