During the first closed beta, the first game I ever played, I thought, "This is my game."

Every single mechanic of this game is an orgasm, every visual and sound detail, and all the branding/marketing that has been done to promote the game. Before criticizing the game for what it is now, I would like to focus on the potential and innovation that The Finals has brought to FPS games. For people who have played the new Call of Duty, you will understand when I say that the new "mass-market" FPS games were becoming repetitive, The Finals puts an end to all this by offering a sandbox arena in which you can shape and play matches in the most creative and innovative way possible. Moving on to the movement mechanics, weapons, and gadgets/classes, these too are absolutely in line with the atmosphere and the sandbox part of the game. The class and gadget system, combined with the moving objectives system, creates in my opinion the perfect combination for a team shooter, giving the right and tough competitiveness to the game.

With that said, let's move on to the negative aspects that are evident at this moment:
Although the game's optimization is excellent, it is unstable on some hardware (especially AMD). In my build, I have Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a 7900 XTX, and despite the incredible performance, from the second patch to 1.5.0 I had continuous crashes at the start of a ranked round or while being AFK in the lobby. Considering the hardware, we exclude a performance issue and think it might be compatibility problems or direct stability of the game and system files that until 1.5.0 tended to corrupt (personally I no longer have this problem but I know people who have to continuously reinstall the game to avoid mid-game crashes).
Thankfully, these are all solvable problems within a season, and as far as I'm concerned almost all of these issues have been resolved. However, the two current problems that still exist (evidently) are cheaters in ranked and poor management of netcode and servers. I don't need to explain anything about the cheater situation, the source code has been made open source on The Finals' official website to the public since the game's release, creating a Valve effect and facilitating the creation of scripts and cheats based directly on the study of the source code. We already know that Embark is working on a solution by implementing an additional anti-cheat alongside Easy Anti-Cheat, which seems to work similarly to Vanguard (Valorant's anti-cheat).
Moving past the obvious problem of cheaters, let's talk about the servers:
At the time of writing this review, 1.5.5 has already been released, and SBMM (Skill-Based Match Making) and RBMM (Ratio Based Match Making) have been implemented, which, to be honest, seem to work. But with two friends in ranked, we've encountered simultaneous crashes of multiple players on the same team and strong server freezes/lags (which seemed to be DDoS attacks) lasting from 10 to 20 seconds. Moreover, often during games, the throwing of portable objects and gadgets (mainly throwing gadgets on moving objects) seems unresponsive. To finish, even the movement suffers from the poor quality of the netcode, causing us to get stuck in invisible walls, or cancel a vault or slide.
I am sure these are problems that can be solved within a maximum of a season and that once resolved, I can really call this "the perfect game."
