NBA 2K25: Disappointing Experience on PC Despite High Hopes

I decided to try out NBA 2K25 after hearing a lot of buzz about it being the first-ever next-gen installment on PC. With the game being on sale, I figured it would be a great opportunity to dive in and experience the next step in the franchise. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned into frustration due to severe performance issues that made the game nearly unplayable.

From the start, it was clear that the game was poorly optimized for PC. I spent hours just trying to get it to run smoothly, constantly dealing with long loading times and a seemingly endless cycle of shader building. I tried several methods to improve performance—adjusting settings, updating drivers, tweaking in-game configurations—but nothing seemed to make much of a difference. Despite these efforts, the results remained the same: the game was still sluggish, and I couldn’t get it to run as smoothly as expected for a title that’s supposed to be a showcase for next-gen technology.

One of my major grievances is that the game seems to be playable only on very high-end PCs or laptops, which makes it inaccessible to a large portion of the player base. The performance issues are so severe that I can’t imagine how anyone with a mid-range or older system would have a smooth experience. It's disheartening that a game marketed as a next-gen experience seems to require hardware that's out of reach for most people. This feels like a serious misstep for a PC release, as not everyone has the budget to invest in top-tier equipment just to play a basketball game.

In total, I spent about three hours with the game, but most of that time was consumed either in loading screens or attempting to fix performance issues. Sadly, I barely got any actual gameplay in, which is incredibly disappointing considering the hype surrounding the game. It’s frustrating to invest that much time troubleshooting instead of actually enjoying the game, and it's hard to shake the feeling that this release wasn't ready for prime time, at least on PC.

While NBA 2K25 might be an exciting title for console players, the PC version feels like it needs a lot more polish. I had high hopes for this next-gen release, but the technical issues completely ruined my experience. I hope the developers address these performance problems in future patches, as it has the potential to be a great game, but for now, it’s just not enjoyable on PC.

Definitely fun to play, the game reminds me of fallout game with its building mechanics and adventurous lore and story missions to explore everywhere. I didn't have much expectations while i first booted up the game, but as of now it has currently over exceeded what i had in mind.
Overall the game is great, the community is also great, and would 100% recommend the game to everyone who's into open world survival games.

I like the uniqueness of this game, its a very fun game to play nothing serious which is something i personally look for in games, so if your someone who like free games and free stuff plus a great game this game is highly recommended to tryout.
