Space exploration games are not usually my thing, give me something like mass effect and I am all over it but a game like this that focuses more exploring and survival etc. I would ordinarily steer clear, however a friend kept raving about it all the time so when I saw it on sale I decided to give it a go.

While the game took me a while to pick up and I was not instantly invested I ended up absolutely loving the game and spent the next 157.5 hours of my free time playing nothing but this, exploring, battling, learning alien languages and countless other activities within the game that I ate up, I only ever played the single player part of the game as I am not a online gaming person but I enjoyed flying to a new galaxy that someone else had already discovered and named including the planets.
Any time you come across a new galaxy that someone has not discovered yet; you are allowed to name the galaxy as well as all of the planets within it after you have explored them and when another player comes across the galaxy; all of the names that you created show up in their game and they can not change them; so you can forever leave your mark within the game which I thought was an amazing feature.
I feel like character customisation is one of the areas they could improve, while there is cosmetic stuff to make your space suit a bit more unique it still felt very limited and restrictive; especially with how much effort goes into the grandness of the game.

There are numerous ships that you can buy and upgrade as well as different types from fighters to cargo carriers; each with their own unique stats relating to what class of ship they are, while I loved my time in the game after 100%ing it I felt they could have done more with the achievements to get you to do more, you do not even have to beat the main story to get all of the achievements.
They are always releasing new expeditions with new content to add even more in the game to do which adds loads of replay-ability value to many players, I am not one of those however as while I love and enjoy games; I will always go for 100% of the achievements and once I have all of the achievements regardless of how much I enjoy the game like this one, I lose the motivation to keep playing it as I move on to other games where I have missing achievements, if every time they added a new expedition or thing to do within the game they also added new achievements for people to get I would be all over this game all of the time and my 157.5 hours could easily turn into 500+ , it is one of the things I feel like this game could improve on to give the game even more replayability and to keep players like myself coming back, but unless they do this then I will never touch the game again.
It is not a negative about the game as if you do not hunt achievemnts or you are playing with your friends then this game is amazing value for money and you will always have things to come back and do but as a single player only person who enjoys achievements it is a negative.

While I brought this game on sale I would have happily paid full price for it as in my opinion it is worth that and more.

After 276.2 hours and 410 images later I have now managed to 100% this game.
I am dyslexic and I have found that this is the best colouring game for me, I have tried a few others on steam but this has by far been the best, each picture has a achievement related to finishing it.

The base game is free and comes with 30 images, the other 380 come as part of dlc's that you have to pay for, I did not mind doing this as each dlc is reasonably cheap and I had a generally relaxing and enjoyment filled time colouring in all of the pictures, as I enjoy 100%ing games I admittedly did not have much choice but to purchase all the dlc's but the game being as relaxing as it is was just a added bonus.
The starting images of the base game and each dlc will take the least amount of time, as each picture takes longer and is bigger then the last, some starting images can be done within 5 minutes while the later images can take well over an hour.

In case you do not have a lot of funds laying around I will list below each dlc and how many pictures you get with it, so whether you want to buy all the dlc's like I did or just pick and choose what ones will give you the best value; it will be easier for you as they all cost the same amount, regardless of how many pictures you get.
Also please note that while some dlc's have less pictures in then others, the ones with less pictures are bigger and take longer to colour.

Ordinarily Rhythm games are not my thing, I have nothing against them I just suck at them, however this game looked a lot of fun when I saw the trailer and the fact you can add your own music into it which it uses to create a unique map for each song going by a variety of factors which means that no 2 songs you play will ever be the same, so this game technically has endless replay-ability which makes it a extremely good value for money game.
The only drawback for some people will be that it has to be music you actually own on your computer so any mp3 tracks you have whether it be from cd's or itunes or whatever can be used in the game but no streaming music is possible so no spotify or other streaming service compatibility which is the norm for most people these days including myself, but I just went around some charity shops etc. and picked up some cheap music cd's that I liked.

There is a workshop for the game with loads of different outfits/hairstyles for your character adding some uniqueness to your "Melody" which also added extra enjoyment for me into the game as I was able to make my Melody look like a character I liked from another game.

After getting 100% of the achievements I can happily say that none of them felt overly grindy or a chore to get, the hardest one for me to get as it may be for many others was to play 10 songs on "intense difficulty" and get a "perfect" on each song, meaning you can not miss a note or be early/late, rather then trying it on loads of songs and hoping for the best I focused on just one song "Rachel Stevens- Sweet dreams my L.A ex" and after playing it for many hours over and over having to restart after each missed note or early/late button press I can safely say "I HAVE NOT BEEN TO LA! AND I AM NOT YOUR EX! GET OUT OF MY HEAD RACHEL!"

The game is well worth its full asking price and with the endless replay-ability you could easily chuck more then my 17.4 hours into it, however with no achievements left for me I am on to a different game, I plan to play Melody's escape 2 in the future if I can convince Rachel to take me back...

When I woke up this morning I did not think I would be going to war, but before I knew it I was a airship with a smiling putin on it; then all of a sudden from nowhere enemies began to swarm me, I started panicing "what shall I do, all I have are these bombs and it is harsh to just drop them" then they looked at me and said "dah comrade" and each one began to grow a smiling face, this is when I knew what I had to do and that they were happy to make their sacrifice for mother russia so I carpet bombed my way through the hordes, over 1000 of them now lie dead at my feet.

Picked up in sale for 39p and played for 25 minutes so definitely got my moneys worth and the soundtrack is decent to boot, humming the tune in my head as I write this review

It is hard not to recommend a free to play game unless it is absolutely broken, especially one as short as this so do not take the overwhelmingly positive reviews to mean it is a good game.
The game is short, cute and colourful and if you want to just switch off for a few minutes then is a good game to do it to.
A problem that I came across which may have been just for me or maybe a bug, but my camera was on a constant left rotation so what should have been a more chilled out experience became a constant battle with the camera view.
You can tell some effort went in to it because of the short story told through a couple of pictures and words like a kids storybook.
smaller Kids would probably get more playtime out of this game as they wouldn't just get the achievements than close it down and would have more fun pointlessly running around as an alpaca and bouncing on mushrooms.
Overall not a good game by any meaning of the term and if I had paid money for the game then this would have been a negative review as it would not be worth paying for, but as a free to play game I have played worse before and it is quick and easy to get the achievements so definitely recommend if you want to add more completed games to your list.
