I have so much more left to do in this game but I don't care I am getting this review out now I can't wait any longer

Hollow Knight is a beautiful game with so much to do without it ever feeling overwhelming. So many charms, countless bosses that (for the most part) are really well designed, and multiple upgrades. All of these are laid out in front of the player in fantastic ways to where it really feels like you are progressing with the game, and it never feels like you are leaving it behind or it is leaving you behind which is very difficult for a metroidvania to pull off. Yes, like other metroidvanias you can just move on in the game and get a crap ton of upgrades before actually going back and fighting that optional boss in the corner but that's just the thing, its optional. All of the bosses that you can do this for are optional and the reward for most is something that if you went so far into the game to make it easier then it isn't that useful to you at that point. Some may see that as a weakness, but I personally see it as one of the game's strengths(really just depends on what you are looking at). The only required boss you can cheese this way is the final boss, but even then the final boss can still feel challenging due to it having much more attacks to use than previous bosses.

I haven't even gotten to the music and the visuals, but believe me when I say they are just as beautiful as everything else in the game.

The world design is also very well done, with every area having a distinct atmosphere that is delivered very well through the music, the colors, and the effects used in each area. Deepnest constantly has spiders crawling in the foreground and is very dark even with a lantern, really selling the frightening feel of it. Howling Cliffs is a much more open space than the other areas, it has a windy sound, and wind lines constantly going across the screen making it feel a lot more like an area outside of Hallownest's protection. Fungal Wastes' music and enemies have this really awkward vibe to them, and that combined with the spore effects thrown around in the area every once in a while makes it feel like one of the more lighthearted areas and surprisingly fun to explore.

I have a ♥♥♥♥ ton more to say but this is getting stupid long so I rate it a 10/10, an absolute masterpiece that is only held back from being perfect through minor problems.
