This game is amazing graphically and has so much content and lots of replay value and the devs have put a lot of work in this game. In an earlier review I sleighted this game gut I just hadn't learned how to play this game properly. In the amount of hours I spent in this game I only finished once. I did do several part playthroughs but due to mistakes of not fully exploring the game I tried playing some parts at a far too early level. To reap the benefits of this game you have to explore explore explore and there are lots of hidden areas too. With the amount of content it is money well spent if you guy this game.

I am rewriting this review while I wait to install this game again and the size of the install should show you how vast this game is (145GB)

This game would be a lot better if it did not crash as much. It crashes at least once every time I played it, especially in design mode where you lose everything since the last save. You get so involved and create a beautiful part of your course but forget to save it of which I would advise doing after every change that you like but you get so involved that you forget and I can guarantee if it does crash you wont get it back to the standard you had before

So the reason I would not recommend this game to others is the crashing. It crashes in career mode and online too.

If you are thinking of buying a golf game for career mode I would recommend EA PGA Tour as the career mode is massive but has no golf course design mode.

If it is the designing side that interests you then get 2K23 but be aware that it will crash a lot

I cannot much remember playing the original but playing this version is just like playing a modern shooter. The graphics are amazing (I've got AMD Ryzen 7 7700x processor, Nvidia RTX 2700 Super, 16GB RAM) and it plays fine on high settings (Ray Tracing - medium)

Gameplay is challenging on medium (prepare to die a fair bit but there are plenty save points)

This is an excellent game in the beginning. The bosses are quite difficult but they all seem to follow a pattern and you need nimble fingers to beat them. Mine are not very nimble.

Later in the game in comes a bit of a chore with lots of grinding for materials for crafting and research, the latter being for the main grind because it takes a lot of grinding to carry out research for each product which leads to repeatedly looking for the same materials again and again and again

All in all a good game but it does become repetitive

I've got to say this is one of the best games I've played for a long time and is probably the closest to the Baldurs Gate series and AD&D Ruleset (this game uses 5th edition). This game is a dungeon crawler with a difference. Most of the time will be spent in dungeons in the main game though there are automated play outside the dungeons with automated rest stops. Sometimes there are fights which are not automated but have to be dealt with by the player. The dungeons look good graphically but the dialogue of the characters can be a bit iffy but you soon get used to it.

The main game is not really the main part of the game. I would say the main part is the Dungeon Maker where you can create your own dungeon map and connect it to other maps you have created. These dungeons contain the same kind of things in the main campaign such as treasure, monsters, furniture etc. All of which can be chosen by you from the vast lists of these items. These dungeons can be played by yourself or/and Published so other players can play your creation(s).
The Dungeon Maker is still in its beta stage but it is still playable and contains more than enough to create a decent dungeon, but the fact it is still in beta shows it will get better (don't know how as it is good enough at the moment.

There are a couple of gripes I have with this game and both are to do with the level cap. The level cap is 10 which is adequate for the main campaign but once the campaign is over that is the end of the character and any other campaigns either created by a player or as DLC will not be able to be used by those created characters, any character in these new campaigns will have to start from scratch. The other gripe is the use of magic within the allocated level cap. In the AD&D 5th Edition rules I believe there are 9 levels of magic and each level is gained to be used after gaining 2 or 3 character levels which would mean only first 4 or 5 magic levels would be reached by a level 10 character (I have not finished campaign yet so do not know if I am correct about the magic levels

I would like the level cap to be raised to 20. This, apparently is the official level cap of AD&D. If the level cap is raised to 20 this would allow the 9 levels of magic to fit in.

If the cap is raised (which I highly doubt), the option to start campaigns at later character levels as long as the dungeon is not set at a lower character level.

As what most are saying not worth the full price; pay no more than £10 and only if it includes all DLC. It is quite old now but it beats the most recent driving games like Forza Horizons and Project Cars 3.

Pros:

There are plenty of races and graphics are good (my PC is middle end (2070 rtx super, Ryzen 3800X). The nemesis ststem is a good idea too.

Cons:

AI can be a bit iffy in that the AI hardly skid around corners and you usually do, they don't need to brake as much as you, when you ram them nothing much happens but when they ram you you're off the track

The AI difficulty settings are iffy. When I first played this game I found medium settings too easy so I set the AI difficulty to hard and managed for a while and was an adequate challenge. Now this setting is nigh on impossible

Personally I would recommend this game at the moment (just) until something better comes out (hopefully this will be soon else I may have smashed my controller by then)

If you are expecting a similar experience to Project Cars 1 or 2, that being a racing simulation game, then don't buy this game. Project Cars 3 is an arcade racing game with no pit stops or qualifying laps (you start a race where it sticks you)
