I swore to myself I wouldn't pay for early access games anymore because I've been burned too many times.

Then I got drunk off of having Christmas money and a ravenous need for more cozy games that I ended up caving during the winter sale. Luckily I found my new hyperfixation.

The artsyle is beautiful with a nostalgic feel reminiscent of the magical girl genre. Which fits because Misteria is full of magic. I've made it to Fall and I feel I have plenty to do before I push early access as far as it can go.

In short, I believe this game is worth its current price with the content it has and considering we're getting ANOTHER update in just a couple months, it looks like the development is not only alive but thriving.

Praise blurbs, thoughts and some things I want to see:

-A generous selection of pronouns. We love to see it and how it weeds out the transphobes upon arrival. I cackle mercilessly at the negative reviews of those clutching their pearls about being 'woke' as they come undone by words on a screen.

-Two of the 'villagers' you meet are animals. Yes, you can pet them. Not only that you can BEFRIEND them. They have BIRTHDAYS on the calendar. as they should. You can also pet all the animals. Multiple times. Also if you have chickens you can pick them up which surprised me but was super cute!

-Cosmetics. I love them and I want more. My wallets cries every Saturday but that's okay. In Fields of Misteria you just accept the only wealth you're getting is how cute you and your farm is. I love that each item you get already comes with different colors. I'd be happy to see some more fluffy/wavy hairstyles! OR maybe long hair with braids. Speaking of cosmetics, your animals can look fashionable too! You want a pink cow with a little halo? Ya got it.

-Presets. With a click of button you can cycle through multiple outfits. Or even characters! You can legit change your skin tone, eyes, hair at anytime from your menu. I adore this. It really gives me a 'mahou shoujo transformation' feel. Like our farmer's super power is changing clothes and hairstyle in under a second (Sailor Moon is gasping for air rn because she could never)

-All the marriage candidates are stupidly hot. I love all their seasonal outfits and phew, the swimsuits. They all serve ♥♥♥♥ and we live for it.

-Crafting doesn't require you to have items on hand. This is a game changer for me. You're telling me I dont have to go back and forth because I forgot one item in a chest? This saves me so much time which is crucial because the days go by FAST.

(But not for long! Next update we'll have a way to lengthen our time? The dev team is listening for sure!)

Now just give me an 'add to stack' feature and I will be GOLDEN. I'd rather limit how much I'm in my chests sorting as much as possible.

-I love the characters. Not even just the marriage candidates. You can talk to them multiple times during the day. They actually interact with each other. Fridays at the inn is a lot of fun. Also love the little special effect animation stuff they do sometimes. Like little hearts or sparkles or OHOHOHO~ (Also having March wink at me almost sent me into a coma)

-Requests do not have pesky time limits, You're encouraged to pick up daily requests and finish them when you can get/make what you need.

-THANK GOD the stores are open 24/7. All day, every day, even if no one is tending to the store.

-The dragon is a romance candidate.

And finally, the love of my life. March. I really thought I was gonna try for a pretty pink haired boy but then this game slapped me in the face with this little hater. Enemies to lovers?? For me?? 🥺👉👈 It was over in an instant. I looked at that tsundere and went 'you're gonna feel so stupid when you end up marrying me"

Figures in a town full of nice people I'm giggling and kicking my feet at the guy making fun of me for only getting second place at a contest.

My girlfriend bought me this game for our 4 year anniversary because she knew I loved the ps3 version of the game as a teenager. I remember having a lot of fun and I knew she would enjoy it too so we started a co-op campaign. It worked fine enough maybe the first hour? (And 'fine' being it was a bit laggy and weird at times but at least playable) Most of our time was in customization. Once we got to the actual gameplay we started crashing nonstop.

My computer is pretty decent so these kind of problems dont happen. After the third crash my girlfriend couldn't even get to the menu without it crashing her entire computer. I thought (foolishly) maybe it would be fine in single player. So I tried to play by myself. After crashing myself another 3 times and having to repeat the same mission over and over, I called it quits. It clearly wasn't an issue with our computer but with the game itself.

It's frustrating and really saddening because I really wanted to play this game again with my girl, who was also looking forward to it, and instead we got this. Trying to get a refund. I do not suggest this game as it is now. Its unplayable, Even Fallout 4 didn't crash this much.
