The bone - chilling cold

«Angel's Egg» (In Japanese: 天使のの) — is a 1985 anime that tells the story of a girl's life in a surreal world of darkness and shadows.

The girl, whose name is not called, keeps a mysterious egg. The setting is a kind of Gothic city, where she spends all her time collecting various vessels and artifacts.

One day, a man arrives in the city, and he carries a cross-shaped weapon on his back. The characters meet each other, and a conversation ensues between them, although for the most part it consists of a constantly recurring question: "Who are you?".

Inside the girl's cave-like hideout full of strange fossils, a man tells her a story strongly reminiscent of "Noah's Ark." After waiting for the girl to fall asleep, the man breaks the egg.

The girl reacts to this with a sharp sense of loss and pain, but decides to follow the man on his further path, however, on the way she falls into a stream flowing at the bottom of the gorge, turns into a girl and dies. The bubbles of her last breaths rise to the surface in myriads of new "eggs."
