I adore this game. It's a unique puzzle experience that offers a challenge. The visuals are incredibly pretty. I personally find this style of game very soothing and hope they make more in the future as I have yet to find a similar experience elsewhere.

I've played through this game twice now and I absolutely love the style of it. If you're a narrative driven person who likes little twists along the way, this game is for you.

***Potential Spoilers Ahead*** I'll try to keep it vague though.

This game takes you on a trip. The beginning can be a little off putting if someone has never played a text-based game before but I promise it's easy enough for anyone with no experience to get started on and still enjoy it. And then it evolves itself. The creepy moments have such a great "wtf" feeling to them. And one of the endings I got had me actually saying "OH OK" out loud.

It has the mechanics of secret things actually appearing in the games file that you have to go find which I always think is a nice little touch on the 'rogue ai' idea.

But what really does it for me is the soundtrack. The standard music is cute and catchy, but there's so many moments where there are little shifts or spots of dead silence that just build everything up. A soundtrack can make or break a games story telling ability and this one does so well.

If you like playing games for story and interaction I absolutely recommend you give Buddy Simulator a shot.

This game was really good. Slower paced but still kept pulling me along. The mechanics are straightforward but what really got me in this game was the characterization. Everyone felt like actually people with real issues and background lives and stories to them. A lot of the themes hit very close to home with dealing with queer life in a small town as well as all of the various mental health issues that are hinted at as well as explicitly stated.

None of it feels explicit or off putting but as someone who has experienced some of it or have friends that do it's also nice to see it normalized. I don't want to spoil it by going into the various characters where it's apparent, but just know it's a great story with great themes.
