This was a major letdown. I've poured almost 4,000 hours into this game and I was absolutely ecstatic to explore a new map. This is a STUNNING (looking) map; however, the loot distribution is non-existent and you run into almost nobody. Yes, this map is supposed to be more survival focused, but where is the player interaction? Nowhere. The progression is supposed to be North->South, yet there is NO loot down south. It's empty and not worth ever running/boating to. The southern islands you have to BOAT to? BARREN! EMPTY! A waste of time. There needs to be an incentive to go south. You'll find better gear in the spawn towns. And there's only 1 quest/easter egg? BI really missed the mark there. Honestly, this game is not worth the $25. It's a great immersive, single-player map if you want to play in the snow, die to wolves because you can't find guns anywhere, and find hiking pants in every color because that seems to be the only thing you can find after 8 hours of exploring the entire map. You'll find a much more rewarding and authentic DayZ experience on other (free!!) maps.
