(A few loops ago I left a really funny review, but I've forgotten what it was.)

In Stars and Time is probably one my favourite games this year. I went into it utterly blind and I really hope that you do too. It's wickedly clever, it's incredibly heartfelt & genuine and you'll definitely have a few laughs before curtain call.

My only gripes with the game is it can be a bit repetitive at times and begins to drag around the halfway mark, but that seems to be the intention of the developers.

I would highly, highly recommend this game.

EDIT: This game is up for nomination in several categories in this year's Steam awards! If you've enjoyed this game as much as I have, please consider nominating Judero!

Judero is incredible. And weird. Incredibly weird. I cannot recommend this title enough, genuinely one of the most entertaining & unique games I've played in years. It's about a 5-6 hour experience and well worth your time.

Fair warning, as an experience Judero's strength is not it's gameplay. The combat lacks substance, the few purchasable abilities don't add much (the dash attack is practically unusable with the default keyboard keybinds) & the possession ability feels pretty clunky in the few times you're forced to use it. It's not offensively bad or boring, not enough to be a deal-breaker by any means but still something to keep in mind.

Everything else though? Absolutely wonderful. The art-style is astonishing & striking, the hand-crafted puppets & figures used to create the characters and environments must have taken an age to create and you could feel every ounce of effort put into it. From the twigs used to make fences & gates to the cotton wool used to make the particle effects, it gives the world this incredibly unique & personal vibe utterly brimming with charm and personality.

The writing on display is utterly astonishing, the dialog running the gamut from quirky & hilarious to melancholic & thought-provoking. I was genuinely excited each time I arrived at a new town, eager to chat with the cast of the hand-drawn characters, each of them having a coin-flip chance of either waxing poetically about contemporary issues or making the most hilariously bizarre comments.

The music was a real treat to listen to as well, setting the atmosphere & tone perfectly with the absolutely beautiful vocals. Even if you decide the game isn't for you, I implore you to seek out the game's soundtrack and give it a listen. As a standalone piece of art it is utterly incredible by it's own right.

Overall, Judero is one of those games that'll definitely stick with you long after you've seen the end credits roll. I'm probably not going to hear Carlisle without immediately thinking about this game.
