A much needed remaster of a psp classic.

This version of persona 3 was compromised to fit on hardware that was not as powerful as the ps2 back in 2009 so some sacrifices had to be made. Although I am ecstatic to play persona 3 on my steam deck, there is a lot to be desired not just from the game version, but from the port itself. As far as the actual p3p experience goes, the lack of 3D scenes and anime cutscenes leaves me slightly sour considering the hardware it is on (something that can run beefy games like spider-man and the Witcher portably). Another thing to mention about the PORT itself is that all of the backgrounds seem to be lazily enhanced with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ai-generation tool which is very noticeable when booting up a new story and seeing the first “cutscene”. These problems almost make me wish they just ported FES with little QOL improvements, like those introced into the port and the original P3P. Although, with a little under 20 hours under my belt of this game, I still find it incredibly fun and enjoyable to play. I also noticed that the more I play, the less I care about the “compromises” mentioned earlier. Even though p3p is the “inferior” version, as some might say, of persona 3, I still enjoyed my time so far in the city of iwatoda on my steam deck and cannot recommend this game enough to fans of persona 5 and 4, and those still looking to dip their feet into the series.
