If you thought this was a fun, trippy game you could play while high then think again.

It's a constantly evolving gameplay loop. You get to decide in which order you tackle the onslaught of pests and monstrous creatures that plague this psychedelic hallway of hell. But whichever road you take, one thing is for certain; it becomes increasingly perilous.

In Nidus you simultaneously control the duo Flower and Wasp. With the keyboard Flower dances around enemies trying to survive being eaten by all manner of insects and with your cursor Wasps singular goal is to defend Flower at all cost. You can choose rudimentary upgrades to either friend; go all out on one or split the power between them equally. Either way Flower and Wasp are dependant upon and empower each other.

There are several layers of skill to this game that you continue to ascend as you play. At first it might be frustrating but it quickly becomes second nature and not only is it visually captivating but it is so intensely entertaining!

Loving this game so far, it is amazing. Devs are constantly responding to questions and feedback with an open mind and seem devoted to executing their vision while also taking into consideration new ways to improve their game. They're very conversational on the discord and genuinely enjoy discussing ways to make the game more fun while expanding upon fundamental game-design philosophies.

If you want to relax or enjoy a game that scratches the itch that mmos do but without having to put up with the antics of other players this game could be for you.

With that being said the further you get into the game the more you benefit from the help of a friend or two; it is definitely designed with co-op play in mind, but it is certainly not impossible to enjoy the majority of the content alone (some classes require more preparation than others for harder content). Once you get to level 20 that's when you can benefit from hiring mercenaries who are basically NPC players that help you tackle harder content. Mercenaries can fill any role you wish but to be honest the AI could be a little better and you can only have 1 of them at a time. Sometimes they heal me when I'm nearly full health and sometimes they run away for a moment for no apparent reason before battering down my targets again.

Inventory is a bit difficult early game because of the lack of bags / knowledge of how to attain them, but once you do it becomes very comfortable. There's not much information on game systems online either but it's part of the charm of the game imo. If you like learning, expanding your knowledge and exchanging it with other people you could have a lot of fun here.

If you have a friend or family to play with and you like RPGs you're guaranteed to have a blast.
