UI feels like a mobile game, the combat feels wonky af, constantly spawning near 3 mage players that just blast you from a mile away is plenty of fun, also feels like a Chinese knock off of Dark and Darker. Fighting mobs PvE doesn't feel rewarding or interesting, PvP is a huge learning curve with every character having wild abilities that you have no clue how to counter until you die to them a few times over, but the base game doesn't feel fun so why would I invest time in trying to learn to PvP?

Hey, at least it's free and I didn't spend money on this crap.

Idk man the controls are wonky as ♥♥♥♥, the hardening system is cool, atmosphere is awesome, lot of great stuff. But if the most basic thing that is a constant in the game, the controls feel bad, then the game feels bad. Remember playing it on my buddies Xbox and thought the same thing, saw it was 3$ so figured why not give it another whirl. Yeah it's even worse on mouse and keyboard to try and play comparative to controller.

I love this game but for the love of god they need to fix the connectivity issues, ever since I bought the game at least once every other boss event when I play with my friends, it'll randomly disconnect someone. Their screen will say "Waiting on X player to reconnect" but everyone else's game is running fine, connected. THANKFULLY you can SOMETIMES just task manager the game and reopen it, reconnect to the game and it fixes it, but not always.

So it's especially rage inducing when we're in the middle of a boss event, lots of in game currency we spent hours grinding is used to beat the level, of course not required but we suck and it's a feature in the game, so why not? Just for it all to be wasted because a damn tower defence game has some of the most finicky fragile server issues out of any game I've played.

I cannot recommend this game to anyone who wants to play with their friends until they fix the damn connection issues, which they probably never will since it's been a problem for many years with no end in sight.

Bro out of the 10 keys I bought for 30 bucks on G 2 A, kinda like gambling lootboxes but for steam games. Half of them are these scam games that are not even a video game. I mean it is hot steaming dookie. Unironically worse then Roblox and that's about as low as you can go. Smh Shaking my head rn Right now.

I want to be completely fair, the game IS fun for 1-2 playthroughs, it's not terrible at it's core, it's actually really good at it's core! But it is an unfinished buggy mess. The majority of my mods are bug fixes and quality of life changes, because after about 100 hours it's impossible for me to enjoy this game without having mods to fix annoyances, bugs or improve the overall performance since their spaghetti code is so flawed. It's a damn shame, this could be one of the greatest games ever made if it had just one or two more years of development.

I also find it a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke that Bethesda is hellbent on trolling their community by updating Skyrim every month with minor obscure "bug fixes" that ends up breaking everyone's games and all the mods (modding is the vast majority of Bethesda's community) So actively going out of their way to slow down the development of mods, aggressively making moves to monetise modding. All the while never doing ANY maintenance or bug fixes on fallout 4 which is an actual BROKEN mess.

Bethesda is on the way out unless they are taken under new management or a massive shift in game development is made towards quality over cash grabbing and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over the customer.

TLDR: Buy the game on sale, get 1-2 playthroughs of fun, don't expect much more without extensive modding to fix/improve this unfinished game.

Don't let the wave of negative reviews crying about the game being too hard sway you off the game, it's not. The game just turned from a chill casual game with little difficulty to semi-difficult actually have to press WASD. It's a solid game with tons of fun achievements to hunt, still chill/casual up until the newest area which is slightly challenging, oh the horror XD. And the new Agony mode makes the game have some real difficulty for people who were getting kinda bored like me.

But wtf do I know, why are you looking at opinionated, non-fact based reviews to decide on buying the game or not? Just google some gameplay and decide for yourself.

This game is insanely fun, but sadly my eyesight is so unbelievably terrible that I don't know what I am looking at half the time and I end up just shooting inanimate objects thinking it's enemies and I can't seperate the difference between a large crate and an enemy shooting at me from behind the large crate. The art style is lovely and I love the controls, the gameplay, the guns feel kickass, but I'm quite a ways in and I have to squint super hard at my screen and give myself a headache in order to die to a grunt anyways.

TLDR, I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because I have bad eyesight, amazing game highly recommend. I just can't enjoy it to the fullest because poopy eyesight.

So, I have dumped a LOT of time these past few weeks into this game and TLDR. BUY THIS GAME, it's insanely fun and for me does something few games do. What is that? Well I can play this game listening to music, watching a movie on the side, casually by myself or streaming it over discord with friends, or be fully immersed in the game with 100% of my attention, not many games imo hit that sweet spot of being fun almost always.

Now I do have to nag a little bit, WARNING SPOILERS:

After you've beaten "The One Who Waits" and "???" gets introduced, the content in the game becomes very grindy and takes forever to complete anything. Replaying the same levels but a bit more difficult, waiting many ingame days to level up your followers in order to unlock the next zone. This being one of the few games I am actively trying to get 100% achievements, the final stretch of the game feels like it's punishing me for trying to get those achievements.

Purgatory, a new dungeon that's introduced, seems like it was put in place to be the replayable grindy part of the game. But going back to the four zones to fight the same things a second time only slightly more difficult, is indeed very very time consuming. Again I love this game and I highly recommend it, and have gotten most of my buddies hooked on the game.

Here is a small list of ideas that would make this last bit of the game not feel like a boring hack and slash crawl to get the final achievements.

A: New cult development that you unlock after defeating "The One Who Waits" and a new skilltree
B: A few more new enemies and possibly changing the theme of the four zones so it doesn't feel like it is the exact same thing.
C: New characters to encounter and possibly some more story involvement from "???" or others of their kind.
D: Some more functions that allow you to level up followers a bit faster so I'm not waiting multiple ingame weeks to get them leveled up just to sacrifice them at the doors for entry.

Conclusion: I love the game, honestly this is going in my top 10 list alongside other games I've enjoyed such as Skyrim, Doom Eternal, God Of War, etc. I just find the endgame to be lackluster and tedious.
