Okay, I want to give an early review, because many people are probably looking at the game since it just came out.

I have 100% Achievements on PS4. And I did multiple playthroughs.

The camera is NOT locked into a corner most places where it used to be. Now its third person, which is a huge improvement in my opinion. They also added new parts of the maps and moved almost all the totems I found so far. However I do feel like the old camera was "different" and could be either more or less scary and give atmosphere.

The choices are VERY nicely done, I like the dramatic effect and the UI is very pretty. The detailing has also gone way up, but that is to be expected on a remake. On the PS4 the "moving skillchecks" would often cause you to lose if vibration option was on. Now I played with keyboard and controller. and if I use controller I CANT fail those lmao. so thats something (feels like cheating, but otherwise they were just unfair, however the keyboard skillchecks seem very fair you just have to move with keys).

BIG ISSUE/CRASH:
If you pick up a totem, and go into the totems to view the movie thingey, then the game will FREEZE and have to be closed down. Thats NOT OKAY and I dont understand how they could release the game like that. I want to give it a bad review because of that, but I hope its just a hardware issue or it will get patched very soon.
EDIT:
It seems to be EVERY time you pick up something and open the suggest menu, when you try to back out, the game is stuck. So if you want to look at your clues, you need to use the pause menu thingey. How stupid, but hope this helps someone.

When you finished the Prologue, the whole bus scene with Sam has been removed. I LOVED the O DEATH theme song, as I know many of you previous players did. I do feel like that scene was WAYYYYY too long, at least the podcast bit. However its not needed now, since you have more backstory and more time to understand what happeneded back then. I mean you already did, but its much easier to follow along now, it would just be stupid to have it repeated.... However the loss of O DEATH is a big ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mistake. I hope it gets modded into the game soon.

Also I logged into PSn to get trophies, Im not sure if you can play without doing it, some people say you cant. If you have to log in on PSn to access the game. Thats just horrible and a big reason to boycut the game, if not already for the crashes I have. login in to get trophies is also a SIN on Sony's part. but I know they will get plenty of backslash from that, so thats on them.

I will still leave a positive review however, because I see many improvements and it feels like a whole new experience. However its close, Im very close to put a negative review.

UPDATE:
Im now at chapter 7, I have some more pro and cons regarding the changes.
Pros:
-The new totem locations are nice, the way to open them however is a nice concept, but just drags out time for nothing basically.
-The new skill check thingey is way more fair, both on keyboard on controller. Either way its just moving the thing into the right spot, so I can actually play with vibrations on.

Cons:
-You cant walk faster on demand, Im pretty sure on PS4 you could speed up walk in most places. So for a game thats already 60% a movie and SLOW to search areas, its now even slower, so wtf?
-The trophies are bugged, I was excited to 100% the game. I tried the perfect rescue with Mike, I did ALL fast paths and no skill checks missed. However I did alt+f4 to start over since I made a mistake first try.... So I was hoping it was because of that. NOPE. I on purpose put my finger in the trap, so I could get them off for achievement, did I get it? NOPE, so now I need to replay the chapter and hope I can get it next time? what???????????....
-Sometimes you go into like a corner or odd locations, and you cant turn around. So you have to go back to main menu again.... thats awful....
-You CANT SCROLL in the transcript in the clues, not with mouse or controller, wow.

With all things in mind, I changed the 9/10 score to a 6/10 and gameplay from very good to good.


Would I recommend the game to new players?
YES, the story is still amazing, its very well written, I feel like its a must play game, just for the story alone.

Would I recommend the game for returning players? (PlayStation)
Honestly not sure. Its nice to see the new improvements, it feels like playing the game first time again, however the issues and crashes I had, I wouldnt pay 70 euro, when you already know the story. Also not having O DEATH just feels bad. O DEATH :(

Amazing game. The developers put SO MUCH love into the game, way more than most games I have ever played, its literally MIND BOGGLING. The game is SO pretty, so many details. Combat and hitboxes etc. are so smooth and accurate. The game is challenging, but you can make it easier (and beatable for most people) through exploring the world. The map is HUGE, but somehow the end of the game is very easy to find, thanks to the big golden tree (erdtree), so you will never really be lost. You are basically automatically drawn towards it in your adventure.

The game has HUNDREDS of hours of playtime in it, it you are looking for 100% completion. If going for 100%, it also barely feels like a "grind" like most games, its actually rather fun going around and far from repetetive. There are about 100 different bosses, with different mechanics. Personally Ive went around to collect all weapons, armor pieces, talismans, spells, incantations, key items etc. (almost got them all lol), and I didnt feel like burning out, as I probably would have in other games.

The game has an ingame currency, which you can use for levelling up or buying items. Most items can be brought, and farming the currency is easily enough. Ive never really felt like I had to grind for ANY ressource other than this currency (and it wasnt really needed tbh), which is rather nice. Even though picking up random items around the world can help you. The game has a crafting system too, tons of different arrows, potions, MANY miscallanious items like stones that glows or used to find your way back, soap to remove foul liqiuds etc. there are ALOT of recipes for many different items.

You can make your OWN character, AMAZING customazation options. You get to decide almost EVERY FACIAL FEAUTURE. Like how wide/thin your chins are, nose height, position, size, etc. if you are dedicated, you can have your character look almost identical as something you want (like yourself). I am honestly blown away, I spend about 1 hour creating my character lmfao (which isnt needed, you can also just use default and change later). You can also change how your body looks and hair etc. choose from ALL colors (color codes) for eyes, hair, skin etc. there is almost no limit.

The game has NO microsancactions. No scummy ingame "gold/shards" or whatever. You get the FULL game and its all included. And again, the devs have put SO much love in this game, this world. I can recommend it, 10/10, its one of the best purchases I have done, I even bought it for my girlfriend to play it together. (The CO-OP system is BAD though, its a better single player experience by default, but with "Seamless CO-OP mod" its a BLAST to play with someone) (talking about mods, this game can be highly modded, I also suggest "item description" mod, since you then can see what the things do, damage wise and elemental etc.)

So all in all, other developers need to step their game up (literally), because this one takes the cake (next to OSRS ofc lol).

Great game, I played it for like 80 hours in just the first month of owning it, very addictve. So many items and combos, literally like 700 hours of gameplay to finish the game 100%. I really recommend this game.
