Elden Ring is one of the best, if not the best souls game by far. Even surpassing Bloodborne

Pro's:
This game is extremely beautiful in it's art direction, as most Fromsoftware game's do theirs always a sense of ah to the art style. You can just look at a single object in the game, and just tell that some poor Japanese developer took so much time and attention to detail. Next the game play is so much more fleshed out than all the other souls games, taking a even bigger step from bloodborne which DS3 and Sekiro failed to really do. The combat feels smooth and crisp for any build in the game. This game feels as though they combined every single good thing from all the souls games before "except demon souls :(", as things like Power stancing make their return from DS2. Alternative weapon arts from Bloodborne & DS3, and the biggest return being Stealth from Sekiro, which has been slightly dumb down. The open world is amazing as the map is huge and will take somebody hours to just travel through a fraction of it. I also like the open design to the game as you can skip major parts of the game just like in Zelda Breath of the Wild, it gives the you can do whatever you want kinda feel to the game. To top it off is the story, while keeping in the souls fashion of not revealing to much about the lore. It is one of the best written stories of a video game ever

Con's:
First let me get the big one out of the way, the game still has heavy lag spikes, from time to time. However if your willing to look past that it's a fabulous game. Another complaint that I have is the game can feel extremely unfair sometimes, to the point of telling newer players to the soul series to probably play the other games first. While I still feel Sekiro is the hardest of all the souls games, this game comes to a close second. first of all Margit, the Fell Omen is the hardest introduction bosses ever. Yes I get that he's supposed to teach you to go and power up it still feels a bit much with his move set. gargoyles feel cheap as I died to them the most because of having to extremely tank enemies at once, and don't even get me started on Malenia. another thing I'd like to complain about is the lack of poise in the game, personally I think poise should be added back to the game to help strength builds feel more tanky and you know actually a threat. I mean how else am I supposed to through around a giant stone slab if I keep getting hit out of the attack animation. My next complaint is about the dungeons, I mean I know there is A Lot of them however most if not all of the dungeons feel the same, with the same reused gargoyle imps. and most of the time the bosses all feel the same. Finally I feel as though having huge area's be locked off for only specific questlines can be really dumb and frustrating if you are wanting to see everything in a blind run through of the game.

Conclusion:

I highly recommenced this game to any souls fan, as long as you know the basic dark souls mechanics and know how power scaling works then I would give this game a try. it has a wonderful community.

Things I think they should add

World tendency or at least a mod that allows the player to from Demon Souls
Poise and PvP maps from DS1,
Chalice Dungeons from Bloodborne,
