Blatant cheaters that you can spectate after you die to confirm. light melee to 1 tap everything, and snapping to targets over 200m away and 1 tapping players in buildings big enough that its not even a question of if it was a lucky shot.

Pretty awful optimization issues after the 1896 update, frequent crashing out after opening the map.

Terrible UI - somehow worse than it was before. The one thing they do manage to get right is the main menu soundtrack, best main menu music in any game.

Was a fun game before, could be fun again, but currently it is not worth playing.

Sons of the Forest is a great game with many enhancements from the first game and a lot of changes from the first release to 1.0. The game runs much better than it did initially and they added more to the lore which I found to be perfectly enjoyable. New crafting recipes, and the return of the wood cart was huge. The weapons also felt more balanced since the pre-1.0 version.

People that complain about the story are taking it too serious, I think.
As a survival game, a story feels secondary to game play. I did not buy Sons of the Forest to be intellectually stimulated by stellar storytelling. If you played the first you know that the story is pretty much nonexistent until the last 45 minutes of game. Go read a book or play a game that is more focused on being story rich if you desire a compelling story with deep character writing. In this game you get 2 companions, and neither one speaks.

I wanted fun enemies, areas to explore, sandbox elements, and mutant nipples in wet T-shirt. and the game delivers on all of those very well.

Escort as a game mode has great potential to make this game much better. However my only real complaint is that the map design for the only map in the game type, is straight dookie. The first checkpoint is entirely a spawn trapping ♥♥♥♥ show that does not even make it worth trying to play more than once at a time. Most games you can barely round the first corner due to the map design being so flawed when paired with the abilities of the characters, you can't even leave through the alternative route when watched by Kite specifically. Remove the first checkpoint entirely, and the map is actually not that bad. Also seems like every person has the same cosmetics. Fix Escort's awful map and my rating is honestly all positive.
