Past its prime in terms of player count, but very enjoyable regardless

Despite every improvement made over the last 2 years, War Thunder is still a cash grab first, and an exercise in frustration second.
I have nearly 1300 hours in game, and ill likely continue to play until DCS (which has its own fair share of issues) has more jets that I'm interested in, however, I will never recommend War Thunder.
It claims to one of the most realistic combined arms games ever released, however its missing massive portions of tank and aircraft designs, often mashing together multiple different variants to some end, or just flat out adding features to vehicles that they either don't have, there's no evidence they have or the only evidence is a untrustworthy source, often in the name of balance, whilst refusing to add features and weapons that are compatible and do exist for the same reason, instead of using the game's inbuilt balancing features.
The game modes are so far removed from actual combat, even the "sim" game mode, that its next to impossible to properly balance more modern vehicles, which would be forgivable if not for how the game is marketed as one of the most accurate games on the available right now.
If you ever find yourself frustrated at the game, or in particular the grind, that means that the gameplay loop is working. Nearly every game made is made for profit, however most of the time, atleast once you get to a certain point you can just have fun, not War Thunder, it is solely designed to make people so frustrated that they'll throw money at the problem, only to realise it never improves.
And it uses A.I. art. Any passion or personal investment on behalf of the devs as been gone for years, and the only reason any bugs are fixed or gameplay changes made are so that new players aren't warned away by thousands of negative reviews
