so the demo of this game was great! the entire first area had me Hooked and i was so excited to buy it & play it with a friend. finally been playing through it and... the songs are worse, And you only get to play the rhythm game a couple times per round with a new gimmick they force you to figure out with little to no hints!

multiple times my friend & i have had to look up a walkthrough because we just couldn't figure it out, and the people on the walkthrough had a hard time too! not only that, but the levels are timed and you can't pause them, which is ridiculous when youre giving us puzzles to solve

ultimately, the first area is great! amazing music and fun levels. the rest of the game is an absolute slog and if i could get a refund i would in a heartbeat

The game itself is very good, I've been thoroughly enjoying playing it, & any tedious minigames you don't enjoy you can skip if you've got the money for it which I think is great

The reason this is getting a 'no' from me is because if you encounter a bug, game-breaking or not, the only way to report it is through the discord server which is dead. No devs will contact you or try to resolve it, in fact the last time a dev even posted in the channel was September 11th (over two months ago), so if there's a bug, that's it. Restart your save or somehow push through it, it's up to you, but with how little the devs care about fixing their game, it's only worth the discounted price I bought it at which made it £2 in that bundle, not the £13.50 price its at otherwise

I've never written a review before, so bear with me here

This game has been incredibly fun to play through. There's ups and downs, but generally, I cannot recommend this game enough. It's taken me about 10 hours to get all the way through it (though I'm a slow player), and my specs aren't great so it lagged at times but even that didn't deter me. At one point I booted up my PC just to get through one section that would crash for me (again, that's a specs issue, rather than a bug to watch out for), purely because I was hooked on what would happen next

So! On with some pro's and cons

Pros:
- Great story. I'm going to be thinking about this one for a while
- Multiple endings & choices matter. You have different outcomes for everything depending on what you pick. I haven't explored them yet, but it leaves plenty of room to go back and go over your mistakes once you've completed the game, and see all the things you could've done differently, and even get an outcome that's closest to what you'd want
- Interesting characters. I don't think there was a single character that I felt I could just brush off, or wasn't interested in talking to them. There were characters I grew to dislike, of course, but even those I still wanted to see what they had to say
- Sequential puzzles. I found everything to be easy to navigate, and when I was stuck the way forwards was just a matter of figuring it out, getting a fresh pair of eyes on it, or taking a break, just like any other puzzle would need
- Inclusivity and gritty realism in a futuristic world. There are listed pronouns rather than genders, LGBTQ+ characters that aren't demonised & none of that is brought into question. There are times where racism is brought up (and called out), but I found it was handled well. Otherwise, there's death, crime, dubious situations, mental health struggles, power-hungry corporations, and much more that gives some situations a heavy undertone, and keeps things interesting

Cons:
- Some puzzles (particularly the codes) feel impossible to understand, even with the hints provided in the guide
- No consequences, only choices. This one may not seem like a con, but when you choose 10+ different responses to the same question, or spend 20 minutes trying to figure out how to not get a person killed, a lot of the intensity of the situation fades. Perhaps in the future there should be a mode where you only have a certain amount of tries for each piece of conversation, and a limited time for specific rooms, and then a 'safety mode' where there are no limitations
- Partially connected to the above - repetitive dialogue. It can be frustrating to hear the same thing repeated multiple times when there's no way to skip over text you've already read

Altogether, I'd give this game a solid 9/10. There was room for improvements, but I've thoroughly enjoyed each and every hour that I've poured into this game, and I cant recommend this game enough if the above appeals to you
