To begin with, I don't necessarily have a problem with the story. I have played a similar game on android before, and the bittersweet ending isn't in and of itself wrong.

However, the mechanics of this game made it feel dull to play through multiple times. I reached a bad ending and I was not even interested in finding out if there was a chance of obtaining a good ending by playing again and instead looked at the community. According to the community, there is no way to achieve a happy ending, either with the girl, or even by remaining friends with other people you've mentioned in the story. All in all this wouldn't be so bad, but the key hitting mechanic ended up becoming tedious. I found myself quickly tapping the same keys over and over again hoping it was a short message.

This mechanic coupled with no real agency in the story, thus making no replay value, I wouldn't recommend it. Even in the realm of free games, there are others which are better that have a similar story. Immediately jumping to mind is the android game "Seen".

All in all, there are other games which do this type of story telling better.
