It's a great racing game... I like using magnetic stabilizer + lunare scudeira ships to minimize the floatiness of antigrav racing. The soundtrack isn't all that much imo so I just put some music by An_FillnotE and XI

Before anything, know this: I don't think you should even install the game if you don't have a group of friends who you can play with more or less consistently... The first-timer and overall experience will be SUBSTANTIALLY better if you already have a relatively big group of friends (3 or more would be ideal, for abyssal deadspace with 3 frigates. For every other activity, the number doesn't matter as much, just having friends you enjoy being around with is what makes this game be more than garbage. It's just empty as a solo player. Tbh I could criticize every MMORPG on the earth with this same comment.)

The game is flawed, career activities are fundamentally unfun or simply tedious: mining, ratting, manufacturing, mission-running, exploration... I'd call it a simulation of a fictional universe, rather than a game because it's designed like a simulation more than anything.

Combat is solely ever good because of the suspense and risk of losing things, but that's not necessarily a good thing (albeit it has its place, I believe the game should have more fun on top of that), you could say the feeling is like that of a gambler who has their money on the line, it is thrilling, sure, but the gambling itself is an activity for half-wits or alternatively: people that are exploiting the game's rules, which is actually fun.

Mining is a bore and a quite glaring noobtrap, I imagine a big amount of new players sit and mine around a highsec asteroid belt, AFK, and return to base only to sell a pathetic amount of tritanium, then subconsciously conclude that the game is boring and leave if they're particularly short-term oriented.

Exploration, the most fun of all activities in my opinion, starts off being slow paced and as a low-skill character you will have an extremely tough time finding data and relic sites that you can actually pinpoint (Depending on the hidden difficulty, if there's any, I don't quite understand the specifics but in my experience, some sites are far harder to pinpoint than others, be it because of the system's security level or something else) due to the lack of strength in your scanning, so you're likely to waste a lot of time scanning a site that you are not meant to find yet.

There are also immediately warpable anomalies in most systems, usually being combat or mining sites, my main problem with anomalies is how there's no indication of their "difficulty" so you might just be throwing yourself to sure death, progression in EvE is kind of nonsensical, items have shoddy descriptions, your best friend is the compare tool and meta levels on item attributes. I don't know why devs would bother with gear progression at all for a game like this.

The main type of progression in this game is skilling, how do you build up your skills? You buy a book and you wait, thankfully the initial levels are quick so it isn't as big of a problem as you'd think, but I still think it's a terrible design from a fundamental perspective, it's like they designed the game to fail, really.

In short, the game is designed to be hostile, obtuse, and unfun by itself, it's kind of like alcohol, only good with friends. At least I actually enjoy messing around with ship fittings, but that's just a quirk of mine that many players may not share.

Also, CCP recently increased omega pricing while not having any new content ready for the game, lol, those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are just the worst at PR.

Not worth it, only for one character and you can't even repurchase it, off the goop.

Could use some video tutorials and the game´s interpretation of 5d checking and checkmating is not intuitive.
