Very rarely am I inspired by a game to full complete it. This game was a pleasure to play. I played the entire game on stream and so I'll keep the review short. If you like souls-likes, or metroidvanias, you'll enjoy this game. I came into it thinking it was going to simply be just another souls-like contender as many before it have tried to recreate the formula. This game takes the formula and throws it out the window, the gameplay isn't wholly unique but it brings concepts and gameplay ideas to the table that are very much enjoyable to experience. Specifically, the combat. Using the spirits of enemies you've "purified" to further your quest through the game world is such a fun thing, especially with how varied and fun they are to actually put to use. Stopping not only at combat, but utility and puzzle/platforming as well.

Not only is the game fun, and enticing to explore, but said exploration is assisted by the backdrop of beautiful art and scenery, with environments ranging from castle ramparts, to the depths of fungal caves, to even an overgrown hellscape, with background sounds that made me jump and wonder,"Who just made that noise???"

If you own this game, I highly encourage you to play it at least once, give it a try. if you don't own it, I highly recommend you buy it and play it if you are a fan of souls-like games, or metroidvanias. As I was pleasantly surprised by this game.
