Following the 1.1 update, I can give a fair recommendation of this game. It's more of an expansion on the Total War Warhammer franchise rather than a truly new game, but that was to be expected and it's still fun to play. Wh2 (with years of support and dlc) still has the better single player experience, but multiplayer aspects of the game are much better with Wh3. When the Immortal Empires content is added, the game will go from (imo) a 7/10 to a possible 10/10 and this is what all fans are waiting on.

Edit upon 2.0 Immortal Empires Release: Game is amazing. It has some niggling bugs and balance issues, but none are major and the campaign is super fun.

Sometimes I wonder why it's getting brighter. I then realize the sun is coming up.

Great game, but unfortunately I cannot recommend it. My game gained a save file bug after the 2.0 update and I cannot load any of my save files. I've reinstalled as a clean game twice and looked at the forums, but nothing seems to work. I'm 70 hrs in and I'd like to finally finish and recommend this game, but until then this is sadly a thumbs down.

Decided to finally sit down and play this game after watching the netflix show. I've had The Witcher 2 for years and I have near 170 hours in The Witcher 3, but never played W2 past the tutorial. Now that I've finished my first play-through (may do another to try the 'other side'), I can say the main story arc(s) of this game is truly fantastic. It's a true 'choices matter' game and your choices be full of both intended and unintended consequences. This is a main arc that plays out on a grand scale and your choice will almost always affect many more than just Geralt. As main arcs go, few other games come close and it's definitely a better arc than the Witcher 3. The graphics have also help up surprisingly well, so that's a nice bonus.

What hasn't held up well is the combat and UI of this game. Both are quite clunky, frustrating at times, and can be hard to get over after playing The Witcher 3. To be honest, the only reason to play this game is for the main story. The Witcher 3 quite literally does everything else better by leaps and bounds. I would absolutely love to see a Witcher 2 remake using the Witcher 3's combat system and with UI improvements, it would amazing.

In short: The game's story is fantastic and great for any rpg, witcher, or political intrigue/epic fan. The graphics hold up well enough, but the rest of the game clearly show it's age. Combat especially does not hold up well.

Side note: This game crashes so save often. It's still playable, but the crashes can be annoying.

Best game I've ever played. Amazing characters, world, combat, and DLC that could make a stand alone game. Only game that comes close to this imo is Mass Effect 2.

I'm gonna recommend this game because it's the best tank/air battle game out there. Tank combat (rb) is much more realistic than World of Tanks and whether you like that or not comes down to preference. I really enjoy the realism aspect of this game.

HOWEVER, this game is grindy to an extreme and much worse than World of Tanks and World of Warships grinds. To put it in perspective, WoT and WoWS grinds are already very long and it can take months to get a t10 vehicle in those games with a free account. I have nearly 900hrs in this game and have not one top tier vehicle (highest tank is 6.7 and highest plane is 8.7 out of 10.3) and it's not because I don't want one. It just takes FOREVER to grind in this game.

This game has some p2w aspects (overpowered premiums and bushes), so don't be alarmed when you're killed by a bush or fight premiums that can tip the odds against you. Personally, I think bushes are one of the worst and most toxic aspects of this game. Since there are no target markers in tank rb, bushes give an extremely unfair advantage to players who paid money for bushes. You can outplay an op premium, you can't outplay bushes.

Then there is the poor UI, lack of dev response to players, ugh the review is just turning into complaining. My recommendation goes like this: I recommend playing War Thunder as it's a fun game at its core. The air and tank battles are one-of-a-kind and can be extremely rewarding and fun. Skill in this game is paramount when bushes aren't involved and it really shows. Finding a perfect position in a tank battle can lead to you carrying the game on your shoulders and being well rewarded for it. Executing perfect energy fighting in a dogfight is extremely exciting, but requires zen of mind to pull off. Bringing a plane into a tank battle and pulling off a bomb drop with multiple kills is awesome. The Br system of this game is poor at high tier, but works well with WW2 vehicles and there's lots of fun to be had there. The sounds in this game are fantastic and the graphics have held up very well since its 2013 release.

I'll reiterate, this game is one-of-a-kind and well give you experiences no other game will. Yet, the game has been butchered by Gaijin time and time again so I wouldn't expect any miracles when your frustration grows with the p2w aspects and other issues with this game.
