this game is a complete missed opportunity to make something wholly unique, given the complexities of metal drumming compared to many other genres. i fully agree with this comment: https://steamoss.com/app/1061910/discussions/0/3415431214848534273/ . the game rewards you by following a 4/4 beat, which is FRUSTRATINGLY SLOW, much slower than you'd normally shoot when enemies are coming at you from left and right. what's even worse is that the 4/4 beat does not always match whatever else is going on in the music - where the emphasis is, so i'm forced to play an unintuitive beat, pulling me out of the zone to search for the beat that the game thinks is the correct one. whyyy have the devs chosen metal as a genre, but not focused on the beat pattern and emphasis that makes metal as a genre unique? at this point the game is like every other beat matching game, only slower and with a metal skin. pointless!
ironically this makes the game less suited/more annoying for metal fans/musicians, as they are more likely to follow the intended emphasis, more than a slow 4/4 beat. the "correct" beat feels artificially applied, and as the commenter in the link above says, you'd be better off turning down the music and putting on a metronome. if this appeals to you, i recommend the game. if not, at least know what you're getting. glad i got this in a bundle.

cute, but grindy and therefore boring. nothing you do is worth anything - meaning you have to grind A LOT. the gameplay is simplistic, uninspired and repetetive. you walk almost everywhere, which makes everything even more unbearable. it takes the right kind of person to sit through all of this. and what is the most scarce resource?? plain grey stones! believe it or not. what a well thought-out crafting experience. -_- glad i got it in a bundle and didn't pay full price. almost any farming & fighting sim would be better than this game.

since it's not possible to rotate the camera or otherwise select items behind buildings, it makes the game almost unplayable. i now have several useless, half-built areas behind buildings, and they will stay that way until i can mark/select them again. which appears to be never. frustrating.
