I thoroughly enjoyed ruiner. I'm not a big top down shoot em up player, but this games atmosphere was gripping, and the combat was consistently engaging and it felt like there was strategy and that I was getting better not only at the controls but also understanding the gameplay. the story may not have been its strongest feature but thematically, it was pretty well done. there was narrative themes explored in really interesting ways through not only the dialogue but actual gameplay elements like the UI, and I really appreciated that they bothered to put a message into it that was more than just an excuse for the gameplay to happen how it did. Overall I recommend!

THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC. play it. now. you won't regret it. art style is phenomenal, its gothic, spooky, unnerving. it makes everything satisfying to overcome. the animation is beautiful, the classes are unique and balanced. gameplay is rewarding. it's literally everything you could want from turn based stratagy. team synergies are super fun to make. each daughter feels super unique. and the story: mwah. amazing, I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed playing this game.
