It's already pretty great, and it has a lot of space to grow (more items, crafting, game modes, specializations, etc). The character art is okay but it could be better, some of the skins are a little ugly tbh.

I think the preview doesn't do the kit justice, since this kit actually has a lot of really good swatches (clean, grime gradient, grimey, mossy, etc). Although Get Together/Vampires/University do let you create castle builds, it's great to actually have build items geared towards making rock & stone castles, with actual doors/gates to accomodate the style (I built a castle just before this pack came out, and although it did come out looking good, I did struggle with finding doors/windows that can handle multi-story double wall-height + trying to make Crenellations with the fences I had).
You'll probably want to visit House of Harlix to actually find furniture for the interior, since furnishing a castle without CC is a /struggle/

Positives:
* I really like the direction they took with the swatches, where some tops feel like a completely different item.
* The lipstick finally gives us a proper black swatch (that actually looks good), and the form is actually different to most of the other lipsticks in game (in a good way).
* The makeup + accessories are generally quite good.
* Some of the items (the skinny jeans, the tall boots, the fem tops, the gloves) are so nice I'll probably be using them all the time.

Negatives:
*The male clothes look quite boring compared to what female sims got. Would have loved to see pants with a half skirt rather than... cargo shorts... or a less conservative vest design (more leather/straps/metal/etc). The vampires pack does a better job at male goth fashion than this kit.
* Overall, the pack is way too "safe" to be proper goth (it's more "e-girl emo" + some black clothes off clearance).
* The hood top is bugged atm, making sims face look weird (huge eyes).

Other:
* I'm not really sure why some items have a baby pink/blue swatch to them. Like, kudos for the variety, but people who are going to buy this pack want "Goth" not necessarily "pastel goth", it would have been better to just focus on one thing? (if they wanted an alternative swatch to the blacks they could have went with a pure white/white+red swatch)
* This pack would have immediately got +SSS tier if it had a goth lolita dress.

I have lost all ability to enjoy other games

I was unsure if i should buy this game or not, but i haven't regretted my decision since

writing this review after unlocking all the currently available research and reaching lvl 10.
Even as an early access, i really enjoyed the game. it has some really great potential, and i really can't wait for a full release with all the features the developer is planning!

it has parts to it that remind me of graveyard keeper, like the crafting and research systems. but unlike graveyard keeper, your character actually earns money, the game is a lot less grindy, and buying stuff is actually valid. to me, at its current state, the game has a very casual progression which makes for a fun and relaxing gameplay loop.

while playing, i haven't really run into too many problems. the only problems i seemed to have were regarding the quests- at first not understanding what to submit when the quest asked for "beer", and getting stuck for a bit when the quest asked for a fruity lager then not accepting a lager with just lemon in it.

I really like the option of being able to hire workers for your inn! Since you can decide if you want a more challenging day and do all the work yourself, or hire staff so you could go and take care of the other stuff you usually aren't able to do while the inn is open (like cooking, farming, ordering stuff, lollygagging). the player character is the only one able to rent out rooms, refill food/drink, and kick out rowdy customers, so it's not like you're completely out of work once you have staff around.

I hope we get an indicator in the future to show what you can/can't put in certain foods, just as a small quality of life tweak (imagine my surprise when i found out from a quest you can actually put meat in pickles).

so yeah! as i mentioned in the beginning, really looking forward to what this game can become! especially once socializing, magic, and exploration is added.

Challenging but not to the point that it's unenjoyable. The modding community is really great and adds a whole new experience to the game once you've finished a vanilla run. hours of good gameplay, would recommend.

Been waiting for this game for years, and i can say it was well worth it. I thought 4 was an amazing game (replayed it and 3 quite a few times) and had high expectations for 5, but this game exceeded them greatly.
a large map dense with secrets, interesting new mechanics, and challenging puzzles.
having no legs as a playable character seemed a bit odd to me before 5 came out, but after playing a run- he's probably one of the best teammembers in the game. not overpowered, but very flexible build-wise.
If an EBF 6 where to never happen, i feel like this game would make an honourable closer to a series ive (and many others) enjoyed playing for the last 10 years.
