I admit myself to be a totally biased source.

I love these puzzles. I love their complexity, their ability to be *just* frusterating enough, but most of all, I love their ties to Alaska. I love seeing these facts, these stories, these ways of life that I grew up with brought to life in new media, and shared.

I know what a lot of others have said, but this right here? This is one Alaskan who is proud to see this game become a reality. Props to you, UpperOne games.

I've enjoyed what little I could play of this game. Unfortunately, it's is glitchy as f***. I've turned all the graphic options to the lowest possible setting, and it's still a toss up on whether I'll actuall get to complete a game. I run a mac 10.9.5. I'm sure it would work fine on a windows. Other mac users, beware.

DO NOT READ THE REVIEWS.

It'll only ruin it.

Just trust that it's worth your ten dollars.

It is.

My review says thumbs up, in truth I'm more... ambivilant. It's a point-and-click, with some occassionally-clunky dialouge and half-decent animation. Basically, everything about this game was just... okay. Nothing outstanding, nothing game-breaking (I'm on a mac 10.9.5, after I lowered my graphics settings, the game ran fine), just meh. This is one of those games that will sit at the bottom of my play list, that I come back to in a fit of boredom. Maybe I'll finish it. Eventually.

I knew I was getting myself into a game with a ton of cutscenes, I was expecting that. However, I was also expecting that these cut scenes would be vital to get information, so that I could make informed decisions later on. Then I discovered that there's really only two decisions to be made, maybe 3. If you're lucky, and choose the right path, you get to choose a little of your own dialouge.

This is a story game. Like a choose your own adventure, except without the "choose" bit.

Seriously excited for what this game could become! If this is the ALPHA, then I can't wait for the final!

You only have one goal: stay alive, but it's tougher than it sounds. Just about everything can kill you. The weather, the lack of food, water (or foul/rotten of either), the wildlife, even the environment. This is a game worth investing in while it's cheap. And DON'T ruin it for yourself by youtubing/guiding. What makes this game amazing is knowing very little about it, and figuring it out yourself!

UPDATE: I stand by what I've said. After t\ of owning this game, I continue to come back to it, to see what updates have been made, and I'm happy -- maybe even proud, even though I had nothing to do with it! -- to see just how far Hinterlands come with this game, and how much farther they're going to go still! Just keep swimming, Hinterland! And hunting, and freezing, and starving, and crafting and dying and SURVIVING!

UPDATED UPDATE: I've owned this game for a year. I'm still playing it. It's still wonderful. Hinterland continues to give me new things to do in maps that I know better than--OHGODBEAR!

Srlsly. 10/10 guys, buy it while it's still cheapish.

I can't believe I didn't play this sooner!

The game is short, yes, but it's totally worth playing just for the background on portal 2. Apart from that, there are other non-story maps available, so you don't have to leave Glados alone forever. I beat this game in a (long) night, because I couldn't get myself to shut the computer down. This is one of the best puzzle games I've played in a while. It's got some great "outside the box" moments.
