What is the line between love and like? What do you call it when you feel a certain level of attraction for someone that cannot be characterized with a shallow, simple word such as 'like' and also do not feel that your feelings are strong enough to be love? Having a 'crush' on someone is defined by feeling a certain level of attraction, or infatuation with said person, but at what point does 'liking' someone, or having a 'crush' on someone translate into loving someone? But looking back we must ask ourselves, 'what is love?'(baby don't hurt me, no more) to gain a better understanding on the differences between love and it's less intensive counterparts. Love isn't seeing someone and feeling attracted to them based off of their physical attributes(though it often helps), yet that is usually how people determine if they have a crush on or like someone and is also what defines lust. Love and lust are not mutually exclusive. I don't even truly know the definition of love myself, and I likely won't for a long time, but I know enough to differentiate between love and lust. 'Like' is a shallow word and the level of attraction you feel is stronger than a simple 'like.' 'Love' is too strong for the simple feelings of attraction you feel, but 'like' seems inadequate. To this end, I ask you, what is the line between love and like?
