Unfortunately a shortcoming title compared to 2014 version. Rushed out of beta for release in an incomplete stage, with promises that were not and are not delivered, such as workshop and stable framerates. On top of that the playerbase is dwindling fast due too lack of new content and/or messing around with game modes and killing off the competitive scene.

Best FPS-survival-horror out there. Modding community is stlil going strong after all these years. Game-breaking bugs and whacky AI are a part of this game and you'll always bring yourself back to play it even after a crash-to-desktop.

I wouldn't recommend this game.

First of all, "free-to-play" is a joke. There are rental guns, but all of them are too grindy. You will have to play like a crack addict to finally get one low tier gun off the shelf, and even then rentals are only around 7 days. Some are 3. Do you want to spend around 20 bucks for a single permanent weapon? If you do, then this game is for you.

The second problem I have is the gameplay itself. It's not balanced at all. While the bad guys would rob a store any time they want, the cops would have to chase them down if they ever want to get paid. Chasing criminals is the only way cops can make money in the game. I wasn't so surprised to find out that cops were totally outnumbered.

The third issue with the game is the player base. All they do is talking ♥♥♥♥ in global chat. Cops are not exception. Not to mention aimbotting, which is fooling you into buying better weapons. Pro tip: no weapon can beat aimbotting.

The only redeeming quality about the game is its customization capability, but that's barely enough to compensate for the rest.

I feel kind of guilty to rate this "Not Recommended," but I just have to. The game is great, don't get me wrong. Graphics are smooth and gameplay is awesome and diverse. I really enjoy it, you know, but I've never made my way to level 10. The reason is, the game is dead. Matchmaking system is screwed up; I've encountered many pro players, partly because the game has so few people playing there's no way I can meet up with lower levels. And as I said, the game is dead. There has been no updates or news or announcements of any kind. The game lacks what I call "marketing." It could and should have been a great FPS.

Early Access Review
EDIT: November 19

Though the game is early access, it's really worth buying.

PROS
-Dynamic atmosphere. Especially when you set the game to top notch settings. If you have Oculus Rift, terrifying terrific.
-Great ambience. Sometimes the music and the sounds get me instead. Imagine going down a corridor and constantly hearing "Someone's here. Leave." whispered to your ears. Get a good pair of headphones!
-Very immersive. There's a whole town waiting to be explored. I haven't mentioned the sewer system, have I?
-Scary. Yes, scary. About the game's horror-o-meter, besides only a few cheap scares, there are elevators, hallways, and illuminating corners. Plus, as I mentioned the sound effect is enough to bring you a good horrifying experience. There are enemies, too. The cool thing is that there's little time for you to react when seeing enemies, and they usually appear out of nowhere. Test your guts, and your mind.
CONS
-The game is still in the testing phase. That gives it bugs like frame drops. Frame drops are significantly reduced as of update #7.
-Light effects are not as good. Sometimes, as you go around corners, the lights go out. This is more of a minor annoyance, really.
-Enemies are not too smart. Just run like hell away from them and you'll be fine. I really expected something more challenging.
-The character moves at a snail pace.
-It's pretty difficult to move things around.
-Inventory system is still incomplete.
-Some market-sold computers might not be able to handle the graphics. I test the game on Intel HD Graphics 4000 and Intel Core i7 2.00GHz processor, which runs smoothly but gets choppy in certain highly-detailed and illuminated areas.

Overall: 8.5 out of 10. You'll just have to see for yourself.

Really fun game with all the shooting and decapitating and boobs and ass and blood and gore and middle fingers. The best part is it's free to play. All experience points and blutes (currency used to upgrade weapons) are obtained just by playing. There's absolutely no buying any ♥♥♥♥ in order to be a veteran gamer. However, if you feel like spending some hard-earned cash, all you can buy are outfits and double exp/blutes. That said, spending money doesn't help you be a pro with badass weapons in this game. It's truly a free-to-play title.
