A fantastic world. Melancholy, but with as much hope as you are willing to make. I did NOT expect some of the endings, nor that there would be so many.

But if you choose one of the good endings, I foresee definite sequel potential, especially if you investigate thoroughly and read/watch the official short story prequel "Fallen". Think of a cross between the shows "Firefly" and "The 100".

Unfortunately, the developers have slipped up majorly in their commentary mode. Some words unfit to be spoken or heard (as in, the absolute worst the English language can offer), tarnishing Primordia's otherwise shining image. Simply don't pry in commentary mode and you'll be golden.

For the game proper, I recommend this mechanical crisis of faith.

An update long after I've finished the game: I'm glad to report that the developer's commentary is completely clean, very insightful about the tropes many adventure games resort to without thinking about it, and there is a certain relish in hearing the developer recognize things that don't make sense and deliberately setting things up TO make sense. It is the bloopers by the publisher that contain bad language, probably in an attempt to be funny.

You're talking about the one by Abe Goldfarb, right? Wadjet Eye did the bloopers; we didn't have any input (or even knowledge!) of what they were. Maybe I'll see whether we can disable it in future patches, or have some kind of warning. I *think* that's the only profanity, but I can't swear to it -- like I said, I can veer toward the profane when I get too casual.

Ah, that could work. I was leaving the "how" of my idea open, to leave the possibility of being fulfilled in something other than a game.

I had not even listened to the rest of the commentary. You had made this game so well, and I couldn't find any specific ratings, that the very first tidbit I heard, that "blooper", stung like a betrayal. For a game so polished, it was boggling that that would be permitted.

But if that was a fluke, I think I'll go and hear the rest.

Regarding your sequel idea: If I had to do it, I probably would make Autonomous 8 the protagonist, not Horatio or the crew of the UNNIIC, and have him acting as a kind of detective / bounty hunter following in their wake as he receives guidance from a variety of devils/angels on his shoulders -- an official contact on the moon, a revolutionary on the moon, MetroMind, and perhaps Factor.

You would see the consequences of the UNNIIC's voyage, and would get some ambiguous inklings as to what happened to its crew, but you'd never encounter Horatio, Crispin, or Clarity directly. Perhaps you'd meet some bit character from the crew -- probably Gimbal Lapitabuilt, since Gimbal would be incapable of giving you a straight story as to what had happened. But I think it would be more effective to move the principal characters into the background.

Though, as I've said, I don't really think a sequel would be a great idea.

Thanks for the kind review! Sorry that the commentary bothered you -- I remember one blooper that had profanity (and I remember being annoyed by it), but did the developer comments as well? (It's entirely possible, my day job has a corrosive effect on my language.)

Together, they scavenge, rebuild, roam the wide wastes, find other robots (living and otherwise), visit the other cities, spread their legend, and live free. Looming in the backdrop, Metromind fades, Factor reawakens to takes her place,... and Project Luna comes home at last.

And they all want Thanatos.
