This definitely feels like a masterpiece of a game, when you compare it to Fallen Order it's almost as if the developers for Fallen Order said "ok let's see what we're able to do and hope it goes well" but when they got to Survivor they went above and beyond all expectations.
There's new enemies, new parkour exploration options, new force abilities, new lightsaber stances, new planets, new customisation options, new cosmetic options and so much more to the point I kept being surprised by just how much more I still had to unlock throughout my playthrough.

NJ+ (or NG+ if you prefer) offers a lot more than the previous game as well, you'll get new perks that are only unlockable in NJ+ and it'll keep all your other progress whether it's databank entries, collectables and map chests (among other stuff that I won't spoil)

I did have occasion instances of frame drops but that was usually when loading was happening, sometimes I'd sit around on 40fps for a little bit in a busy area but I didn't let it bother me and I'm glad I was able to play on release and have such a great experience/

Performance and Gameplay are different categories that need to be taken into account, in terms of performance it's hard to deny all the issues that came with launch that made the game unplayable for people and that's a real shame because gameplay wise it's outstanding.

a MASSIVE improvement upon systems from previous games, the co-op and QoL changes are extremely good and I can't wait for the grand campaign to be added.

also people with less than 4-10 hours of gameplay shouldn't be allowed to do reviews.

If you don't think it's worth buying the Year 1 Edition then buy the regular, you'll easily get 20-30+ hours out of it

easily worth the price, if they consistently add content then it'll be amazing

if you've never played terraria you're missing out on so much fun and adventure

After 500 or so hours I figured it's only fair I give the game a more up to date review.


The server issues they had at launch have been fixed which is good but there's still a shocking amount of unfixed issues and to make things better every time they fix an issue they somehow manage to create 2 more.

A prime example of how the updates have been is: release update > update makes ghost ships fire 100 cannonballs a second and insta sink galleons > release hotfix without a rollback > somehow make it so nobody can pass through doors or gates??????


I've done everything at this point from playing in a small group of friends, to a medium group to a mega company and it doesn't matter what group size you're in because you'll still get absolutely shafted by the game.
Large scale naval battles and PvP? set fun factor to 0 and ping to 255 because that's all you'll be getting in a battle involving 2 megas.
Shooting people with guns? It's ok if you're fine with spending 15 seconds to reload the weapon and maybe fire again.
oh and why bother with guns when it took them over a month to nerf fire arrows (AKA fire and forget: the ultimate pvp weapon)


The game is stagnating at an alarming rate and it honestly seems like the devs have no idea what to even do, one minute they make a patch that makes your life a little easier (the ability for enemies to clip through the bottom of your boats and get on board to place explosive barrels or kill crew, took them until February 2019 to patch that one) and the next minute they decide they want to just ruin the experience you have as a player (not dev wiping an entire company for cheating/hacking like they did on ark despite MULTIPLE pieces of video and photo evidence).


I would still not recommend this game any time soon unless you want to play on a private server.

The Developers are incompetent.

Hero Siege makes it so that you always want to play just one more time, i mean you start off thinking it's all going to go smoothly and you'll be done unlocking new acts within a few hours. That isn't how it goes though, you'll get a little bit far and then get smashed down and have to restart from wave 1 of act 1, all the classes have unique roles though and the stats for them area saved on to the next playstyle.

10/10 would buy

pretty much the unfinishable game that makes you want to finish it, will always be coming back to play
