I think this is a good time to write this review, I can simply summarize this review by saying this...

The Long Dark is a fantastic and mind blowing game.

Everything I've noticed about this game screams yes, well, at least to me it does.
I was skeptical at first, the first couple attempts of trying to play this game during its earlier stages caused me to feel indifferent about the game as whole. I didn't love it nor hate it. After a while it began to sit in my steam library as one of the many games that I had no positive nor negative opinions of. This all changed about 2 years ago. After taking the time to thoroughly play this game, completing the campaign, *well as much as I could since it is released in chapters* completing some of the challenges in the games challenges menu, and having a long lasting survival game going on 264 days allowed me to see this game in a whole new light.

Doing this, I began to appreciate all the work the developers have put into this game, the art style, the soundtrack, the story, the game play, all truly and utterly amazing. The amount of detail put into every piece of this game is astounding to me. This game has had me on my heels at times when I thought I wasn't going to make it to the next building or shelter or whether those wolves were finally going to get their feast on my corpse. But also at times, was a way for me to relax and just enjoy the peacefulness of the winter apocalypse . The sounds of the wind blowing past your survivor, the sound of snow being crunched underneath your feet as you walk across the game world, *which is GIGANTIC* larger than Skyrim's world as the developers claim. All with item spawns completely randomized, you may be in the same world every time you play but you may not find those matches you need where you found them in the last play through.

To wrap this review up, I recommend this game, its a beautiful balance between difficulty, keeping you entertained, and replay ability.
