Used to be a good game, back in 2016/2017. Then the devs made the inventory a 10-slot backpack and made the game an absolute misery to play. I don't recommend.

I'm very torn on this, because I would really really like to love it, but...

Maybe it was just because of my expectations, but it was lame. The story didn't really go anywhere, except nearly all theories regarding Catnap were correct and Huggy is dead. We didn't get to know who Ollie is and what's his role, for example. We didn't even get out of the factory.

I was expecting something similar to chapter 2 where we'd actually have stuff to do, now it's just "walk, find battery, walk, find another battery, solve this puzzle, walk, walk, find 10 more batteries, walk, lol random monster chase you're dead".

And Catnap... is very un-scary. We barely see him, and when we do it's just Fnaf-style "stand your ground" but you can move. What happened to the part in the trailer where you had to shoot the flares to see where he is? And his ending is pretty much a copy of BATDR where Audrey merges with the Ink Demon. He was hyped for MONTHS, and his final screen time is about 5 minutes, and half of that is the Fnaf copy sequence.

And I don't know who at Mob thought it was a good idea to put a puzzle in the middle of a chase sequence (looking at you Miss Delight).

I'm not saying this was bad, not in any way. Just less than I was expecting. A lot less.

The story is... all over the place. There is no red string whatsoever, but a lot of meaningless side plots such as the Lord Amok thing. The whole story feels rushed and contradicts the first game's story. There isn't anything to make you want to solve the mystery. If there is any mystery, I'm unclear on that.

The characters aren't convincing either. Old characters are mostly cameos, and nee characters barely get any screen time. There isn't any character development, and even Audrey is more cardboard than actual cardboard for a protagonist. Wilson is the only big character who is more living than a cardboard. Joey Drew was established to be a full ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the first game, but now they wanted to make him sympathetic. At least the voice actors are mostly good.

Mechanically it isn't good either. The good things are that Audrey can run about 10 times faster than Henry, and she has a visible health bar. And that's the good things. Combat is boring because you only have one weapon throughout the game. The game is packed with everything from stealth to 10v1 combat, and neither is really fun. Or, the stealth is fun for the first minutes, but when a whole chapter is full of stealth (looking at you keeper place), it just gets boring and annoying. Especially as someone who doesn't like when a game forces you to approach one way. Cutscenes are just monologues, but at least they can be skipped.
The Ink Demon mechanic is absolutely rage-inducing. You see him all the time and you can only hide in certain places, whereas in BATIM you only had to stay out of his way. The joke gets old very soon. The game also tries to be both linear and open world at the same time, and... well, it doesn't work.

But what annoys me the most: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MOUSE SENSITIVITY. I had to max sensitivity from both the game and my mouse itself to make it somewhat playable.

At least the graphics are good. And at least I only paid 3€ for this on super sale, I'd be far more pissed if I paid the full 25€ and got this.

TLDR: the game tries to be everything at once, but ends up being nothing really.

Early Access Review
Used to be a very fun game, but part 3 update ruined it. Happened what happens with most early access games. Devs remove everything that works, add new things that don't work, and never listen to the wishes and concerns of the players.

I'd really like to give this game a positive review, because it isn't all bad, but.... more bad than good things.

First of all, building roller coasters is absolutely worthless and all they do is make loss. The building itself is also quite restricted after all, for example you can't build a normal track that goes upside down, it has to be an inversion module.

Then I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, but food and drink stores have the biggest role in this game. You could build a park without any rides and it would make profit, if it just has enough food and drink stores.

Would be a better game if it could go through at least one damn chapter without crashing. Restarting the game every 15 minutes or so kinda ruins the mood. Also horrible audio de-sync glitches, the teens are so annoying I'd rather kill them right after the first chapter, too much boring af dialogue which you can't skip, not able to be completed with all clues and tarots since they don't stay when you rewrite your save (unlike in Until Dawn), and the ending is so empty and rushed.

Don't buy unless it's on sale. Also Until Dawn wins 100-0
